How to waterproof an SLR?

Subscribe
What methods / accessories do you guys use to waterproof your SLRs? I may be going to Iguazu Falls sometime and I wanted to take shots from the bottom of the falls. Understandably it's going to be very misty down there and possibly downright soaking wet.

I don't think I need a professional, underwater housing to keep my D700 safe & dry, but I probably will need something more than a plastic bag. I've tried a DiCAPac and found it cumbersome.

Any other ideas I should look at?

My camera bodies are weather sealed but I also carry a package of these. Very lightweight and take up almost no room in the camera bag.

I use a Kata 702 - it's been with me to Coast Rica, Niagara Falls, the Narrows, etc., etc. But I'm not sure it will be any less cumbersome than what you linked to. For seriously wet conditions, nothing but a fully enveloping solution is going to work.

Have you looked at there?

I pulled up one for the big Canon DSLR.

I've seen them but have never used them, though I am considering buying one for kayaking.

If you're going to spend the $300 on the ewa unit, check to see if you need the U-B100 - it supports 77 and 82mm filter diameter lenses. I don't know Nikon, but most L Canon lenses are 77mm
