The Good "Old" Menus of United
Not that old, but sadly, long missed.
These are both from September 2001, Domestic First, 2 Class Aircraft:

Reuben sandwich with whole grain mustard and chive sauce
Mustard potato salad and a dill pickle
Chicken with Robinson's original barbecue sauce
Garlic mashed potatoes and roasted corn with spinach Lyonnaise
Garden fresh salad with Balsamic vinaigrette or ranch dressing
Dessert
Eli's Chocolate Mocha Mousse cake
Starbucks coffee will be avgailable throught the flight
Crystal Geyser Natural Alpine Spring Water

Not to be too sarcastic... But it strikes me that flight attendants aren't really chefs--they're preparation artists. And BTW, the following sounds great, but it describes the major components of a McDonald's value meal:
Boeuf Haché
Prime Grade American Beef with summer greens, roma tomatoes, sweet vidalia onions, and fromage américain.
Pommes Frites
Delicately flashed julienned new potatoes.

Frankly, I even miss the cheeseburger. I won't even bother lamenting the loss of the cigar humidor cart!

I still have my UA917 IAD-SEA United First dinner menus from April 2001, March 2002, and October 2002, as well as my BWI-SFO United First breakfast menu from November 2002. All three dinner menus had an appetizer course, salad course, and three entrees (four for April 2001).
The April 2001 menu is four pages, while the others are all two (front and back).

I take midcons a few times a week and I'm soooo tired of those salads and cold meats. Please bring back some hot meals on these flights.
