dont think you should chance it, there is no transfer area so you will have to buy a tourist card, clear immigration, and then customs leave and then return to departures and clear security. Dominican immigration can be notoriously slow, security even slower!

Thanks for the info! I was able to change it to the next flight, which gives me 2hr 29m in PUJ and maintains the rest of my run with plenty of time.

Possible to do international connection within Jakarta (CGK) airport?

This is not a MR question but I am thinking some people might have encountered this doing MR to CGK.

I am in a situation where I have to take a flight originating in CGK. If I fly into CGK on the day of my flight, is it possible to do an international connection without going through VOA? I will have no checked bags and I will have boarding passes printed.

Yes. Visa is not required for international transit, but departure tax still needs to be paid (at the gate).

Done FRA many times in the past with no problem.
The last visit in May I needed to get out of the transit area to go to the Pharmacy in the Main Departure hall. The immigration officer asked me how long I will be staying in Germany I told him for couple of hours. Without raising any eye brows he then asked me" are you going to the Airlines Lounge?" I said yes. He stamped my passport and let me go.
I vaguely remember back in the days we used to go through immigration to get to UA Red Carpet club. I haven't used that club for so many years - thanks to Lufthansa First class lounge - I didn't know you still need do that.

Sadly, the Red Carpet Club is long gone and only lives on in the fondest memory of Frankfurt flyers.

PTY MR

Any done PTY turns on AA same plane? I don't think you have to go thru customs and re-enter - there's no forced transit thru them from my memory.

It has been a couple of years since I visited PTY, but I recall arrivals and departures are co-mingled thus no immigration for a turnaround.

LED Short Turnaround

Hello all, my first post after having visited the site occasionally over the past couple of years! I just booked a mileage run from NYC to LED, and I'm wondering if people think this is a horrible idea, and I should cancel (if so, I need to cancel by tomorrow night). I have 55 minutes between arriving and departing. I understand that no visa is required, but I'm worried about missing my flight home. This is all on Delta/KLM

JFK – AMS – LED
Fri 5:50pm - Sat 7:05am, Sat 12:45pm - Sat 5:35pm

LED – AMS – JFK
Sat 6:30pm - Sat 7:35pm, Sun 1:25pm - Sun 3:40pm

I did a quick search for the next Delta flight home, and looks like nothing for 24 hours. Thanks for your input!

Welcome to Flyer Talk vcflyertalk

Since you are travelling to and from Russia via the same country, strictly speaking you are not eligible for transit without visa, and would need to meet visitor requirements (i.e. most likely requires a visa depending on your nationality).

Airlines usually check for visas and so there is a risk of being denied boarding (at JFK or at AMS).

Doing my first actual LITERAL International MR in Nov. I've done JNB a couple of times but I always stayed a few days and made a vacation out of it.

I'm flying to DXB on delta in Nov and have a 3hr turnaround (same plane back).

Do I have to go through customs or anything? I'd like to be able to squeeze a shower in @ whichever lounge is there for SkyTeam Elite+ members.

Anyone offer any insight?

Transfer at Birmingham Airport

As guest to this thread I have the following question re: transfer at BHX.
At AF/KLM thread this info could not be obtained nor at the BHX website.

We travel AMS-BHX with KLM with a B737-800 on a back to back trip with 2 PNR's. We start our AF/KLM WOW sale trip at BHX. We only have handluggage. We will be fully checked-in via OLCI. We depart at BHX in Business.

Between KLM arrival and KLM departure time there is 45 to 50 minutes.

Question is : how is the transfer protocol at BHX??
Do we need to pass immigration 'IN' and 'OUT' and go through securities again or is there a by-pass?
At what gate (1-20) or (40-68) KLM B737 embarks?
Can you estimate the transfer time needed (by using Fast Track)?

I will be doing a MR to MNL from IAH in a couple of weeks.
First time to MNL. Is there a transfer desk to get return boarding passes for the return without going through immigration? Or do I have to check in with Delta again?
Arriving at 10:20 PM. Depart at 6:40 AM.

Thanks

If you're staying within the airport, it will be a pretty small area you can live in without having to exit and come back through immigration. At least that's the case if you're flying UA; Delta might come into a different terminal and have a very different process.

I'm trying to remember how I got my boarding passes for my MNL turn-around; pretty darned sure I had them in-hand prior to arrival at MNL.

8 hours at MNL... I really hope the situation for DL folk is a lot nicer than for UA. I didn't see anything there that would make me want to do anything but leave. And I generally like airports.
