Programs: Still a lowly Blue with BA but inching towards Bronze. Managed to get to KLM Silver!

No, I think you'll be fine. AFAIK, you still go from gold to silver even if you do absolutely no BA/OW travel in the year. If you continue the trend the following year, you will of course go down to blue.
I agree. Has happened to me twice. Gold to Silver with only one or two qualifying flights.
