A while back, I asked a question about whether E booking class would earn any miles on Swiss (LX). Since then, I have received 2 very conflicting e-mail replies from Mileage Plus. Personally, I decided not to take the trip because it's not worth the risk of not receiving any miles. However, I am going to offer the replies I have received for information.

Hello PVD1K,
Thank you for your continued loyalty as a valued 1K member.
An E class fare flown on Swiss International Airlines is not eligible for
mileage accrual with Mileage Plus. The following classes of service booked
on Swiss International Airlines are eligible for mileage accrual: F, A, C,
D, Z, J, Y, B, m, H, Q, V, W, S, K, G, and L class.
Miles and segments accrued on Swiss International Airlines do count toward
elite qualification. Premier members are not eligible for elite bonuses for
flights flown on Swiss International Airlines.

Mileage Plus members earn actual mileage (with a 500-mile minimum) on Swiss International Air Lines for all paid flights. Miles and segments accrued do count toward elite qualification. Premier members are not eligible for elite bonuses.
