More lunch highlights
Following up on HDK 's post, here are some high points from today's lunch:
a. The new boarding process, with the MVPG bypass line, will be implemented at ANC, SEA, PDX, and LAX this coming Friday the 5th. All stations will be using the new process by the end of June. New directional signage at the gates will take a bit longer to be installed, though.
b. The reservation list of standbys for first class will now automatically carry over to the airport so there will no longer be a need to get on a list at the airport. Your status will automatically carry over. Ann said that companions will only enjoy this provision if they, too, are MVPG's.
c. An MVP Platinum tier is coming in 2008. Ann said the threshold will be "in the 70,000 to 80,000-mile range".
d. In June, we will receive six "Expression of Thanks" cards that can be presented to deserving employeees on the spot.
e. Right now, MVP's and MVPG's get the transferable upgrade coupons. These will go into an electronic format in 2007.
f. Online ticket reissue will be vastly improved this fall, including a "banking" feature where unused funds falling out as a result of ticket reissuance can be "banked" for future use.
g. Ann couldn't go into specifics, but she made reference to new destinations "that we will really like".
h. With the new boarding process mentioned in Item a above, there will be an increased effort to gain control over carry-on items.
i. Earlier today, the functionality was provided to book Delta award flights on Alaskaair.com.
j. There is much focus being placed on having good ontime performance and improving baggage handling.
