I don't think Sheraton or HHonors points can be swapped from one person to another. Specific awards can - not points.

I agree with Rudi. I don't think you can swap points between two COMPETING Chains.

Westin and SHeraton... for now you can exchange back and forth. I won't start the
"what about the new program debate" now.

Are you a member of Westin? You can get some
of your points there. And Sheraton has a
very good Optima card.

32K points sounds like a lot of points to
need a.s.a.p. Good LUCK! CATMAN

Sbelkin:

You can convert SCI points to United miles, and then convert those to Hilton Points. I did that last year when Hilton was offering double points (four per mile).

Yes, but sbelkin wants to convert Hilton points to Sheraton points (not the other way around).

Why Hilton? (Granted, they have more properrties and can freely exchange points/miles among partners.)

Personally I prefer Sheraton because:

1) Unlike Hilton, you can earn points at any rate.

2) Starwood owns Sheraton and the Luxury Collection, which includes St. Regis in NYC and Aspen (former Ritz Carlton's), the Phoenician in AZ, and others. A free night at those properties are 10K points, which is equivalent to 10K miles. However, consider a night at those properties can reach up to $300-$500, SCI is a wonderful bargain.
