If they cancel as many IC routes in november as they are doing now, perhaps we could get a 340-300

Update

Received a reply from SAS's charter department. We have a couple of challenges here and we are discussing how to get through them. (they want to force us to use their catering suppliers, NO WAY I will accept this). They also will not allow us to use volunteer SAS crews on the flights....

We are also exploring other charter options to find a bench mark for how much this should cost and what the normal rules are for catering, crew, etc.

The price was just a little bit higher than expected, around 600-650USD per person in coach (including SAS meals and free drinks), after having discussions with some who have experience in charter, it sounds too high..

Therefor we will do some checking so we can take this back to SAS.

We are working hard to make this a trip of a lifetime, more to follow very soon.

A complete program with catering and routing will be presented on February 16.

Thank you Tommy and others for all the hard work you're putting in to make this the ultimate Do!

Personally, I'd pay any amount to be in the company of our esteemed FT mods and Commander in Chief

Let's just hope there aren't any accidents -- or FT would suddenly become a lot quieter!

http://www.aircharterguide.com/Opera...craftType=A321

Thomas Cook would perhaps charter a flight from CPH according to this side. Note that Turkish Onur Air would charge 3400 USD / hour for a A321, with 200 persons. This is 17 USD / pax / hour. If we count 10 hours in total for the aircraft, a double price to match "local standards", that would be 340 USD / pax. Then catering and additional taxes, 100 USD, I would say that 450 USD seem to be a good estimate... Another very approximative rule I had heard before, is 5000 EUR / hour excl. catering. Which would mean 250 EUR / pax.

Hence the need to fly via Oslo at the end: with a BP to OSL, we can buy bottles at CPH and ARN "legally" and have fun onboard
