So it looks like almost 100 participants have voted for November 6th, so the date has been decided.

After communicating with BA, SQ and QF about a LHR tour of facilities and A380s, this is also easier to get done during the week. There is of course opportunities on Saturday's as well, but to get the best experience, we might want to look at this alternative

(OBS!! Due to the size of the aircraft and volunteers, we have not decided where the DO party and first flight will depart from)

Wednesday November 4th: Pre-DO party in Oslo/Copenhagen @ 7 or 8PM

Thursday November 5th: 0600 Champagne Breakfast courtesy of SAS in the hangar at OSL or CPH.
Our aircraft will be parked in the hangar and we will board directly after the Champagne breakfast and push back from the hangar

7AM the first DO flight will start, pick up in OSL/ARN/CPH (order to be determined)

2PM Arrival TLS. Tour of the Airbus factory

6:30PM Dinner flight to LHR

Friday November 6th

10AM Breakfast with BA, SQ or QF (TBD)
Full day tour of LHR, A380 and BAs facilities

7PM DO Dinner

The same program could be arranged with Friday/Saturday, but with a reduced tour of the LHR activities. If there are a lot of people who can't make it on Thursday, we will of course do Friday/Saturday instead.

Pls let me know what you think.

Excellent! With some dates going around I think it's time to start looking for award flights...and saving money...

I'm thinking of going around Europe (would be my first time in the continent) - this Do would be a good entry point!

That sounds fantastic to me, tommy777! Will we most likely be going with the Boeing, given the amount of interest thusfar?

I seem to recall that there was talk of someone having a chance to get a group rate on Transatlantic C service from one of the *A carriers.

Is that concept still alive or should we just go right on and use up some miles to get to the DO as soon as we know what the starting point is, OSL, ARN, or CPH?

Pls let me know what you think.
I think you are my hero.
Talk about thinking out of the box.
You put all the other Do organizers to shame with this grand plan.

Sadly, my wife and I will be in HKG and PEK celebrating 31 years.

Can't wait to read all about this.

Wow!! This is getting better The dates are already in my diary

I normally try to avoid LHR (and BA) like the plague but would love the chance of a tour of the facilities to satisfy my morbid curiosity

P.S. Both dates are fine with me but like herro I prefer the full LHR tour (Thursday/Friday) if given a choice.

Great Tommy777, you keep going strong!

As for dates I prefer Friday/Saturday, since less days off work will be needed. This looks really exciting and it will be fun meeting you all again!

Please make my participation Gnopps +1-

Hi,

The program looks amaizing.

I would prefer the full LHR tour so weekdays works for me. But I will also support a Friday/Satuday tour if there is more people voting for this.

I am in all the way :-)
