Hi guys, I have tried the SAS website but it doesn't tell me the booking class, therefore I couldn't find out the booking class for the fare that I would like to book.
In Oct 2009 I'm going to fly from BCN to OSL and then LHR, flights details are SK4686 BCN-OSL, SK809 or SK811 OSL-LHR, currently I'm looking at the cheapest ticket for SK4686, which is about AUD$241.2 (Economy - Fixed ) BCN-OSL, and AUD$205(Economy - Fixed ) OSL-LHR. Does anyone know where I can find out the booking class for these fares. I'm with Aeroplan,so I need to find out if I could earn any points on these fares that I will be buy.
I'm afraid you won't get the SAS site to tell you that info, but I suggest you try dummy bookings on www.wideroe.no as you can book all SK flights on there and they have the fare info readily available before you book. SAS site will only tell you after you book, and then you get the usual surprise news that your booking class only earns 25% points.
I've also been looking for a more advanced booking engine online, would be cool to choose between Q or H, or the restricted V in eco to avoid those annoying 25%.
LH does pretty well with their "Economy basic Plus" option, but I would like to do the same on SK metal too - travel in eg. V outbound and Q homebound on IC-flights.
What's the best online booking engine? My dream would be an online Amadeus tool, and it could command line based for sure!!!

Apart from MR for requalification at the end of the qualification period, i might buy up from W to Q to get 100% miles but from TLKU classes, I don't think so. The price difference is rahter high for a few points extra. 100 EUR from W to Q on CDG ARN CDG, 180 EUR from U to Q. Note that for 75 EUR one way on CDG ZRH CPH, LX upgrades you to J class, with biz class miles, lounge, onboard service, fast track etc... definitely not worth paying so much more for little more miles on SK.
allows you both to see the booking class of any particular fare and also to specify you own booking classes. It is, however, for information only - it doesn't actually allow you to book tickets. Still, I find it very useful for SK flights particularly to avoid the 25% nonsense when possible .
The information on how to use it is available on FT - do a search on itasoftware. The short summary:
Use "login as a guest"
For ORD-ARN on SAS allowing connections, in economy extra for the outbound and business for the return:
