The A380 is not designed for CPH type routes so I don't think we'll ever see any regularly scheduled A380s. B787 on the other hand I think you'll many of in the future, it will be a better fit for thinner European routes.

I agree 100% that the B787 will be perfect for a lot of routes in/out CPH. But it would be nice to have it anyway..... one can only dream (or move to a bigger airport)

Just saw the A380 this evening in Heathrow when arriving in. The Singapore A380 was taxing along the side of my AF flight from CDG. It's a lovely bird, I really need to book myself a flight in one of the A380s soon. Not sure I can wait till BA gets one, so I might do Singapore or Qantas instead
I'm afraid CPH will probably never see the A380 as I totally agree that there are no routes from CPH that would warrant the capacity (and I don't see CPH getting the needed expansion). You can all come to London and enjoy the sight though

I was in LHR just before xmas an saw at the gate. A big bird and yes I want to fly on it myself (in suites.... if I win in the lottery).
But it all depends on the future of SAS and the growth in CPH. But it would not be the most likely setup. But the capacity to BKK from CPH is large so there could be an idea (in some future and with a large capacity 500+)..... But it is probably wishfull thinking from my side.

I think it's probably more likely that the Concord is brought back than it is for CPH to see a regular A380 service
Actually my taxi driver home from LHR was telling me that SRB (Sir Richard Branson) was trying to get permission to revive the concord flights. As unlikely as I think this is I would definitely be in line to use the concord service out of LHR if that got restarted. Sorry OT I know, but the A380 got me thinking of other fabulous aircraft we as humans have managed to engineer!

I know I am dreaming.... but I am only 32 so that is ok to dream
Saw a SQ bird in SYD last December. Would love to try it out
The CPH-BKK route has a current winter capacity of 7 TG 747s, 6 SK 340 plus some 2-4 747s charter flights to either BKK or HKT. So a total current capacity of some 5-6,000 seats a week. So if any route could handle a 380 it would that one.
CPH is not 380 certified though and the only runway even remotely capable of handling the 380 is 04L/22R - and that runway is not strong enough to support the wieght of the 380 (mainly due to the Englandsvej underpass),

Hey, let us fill up the Englandsvej tunnel with concrete and get the A380 to CPH. Who wants to go to Dragør anyway?
I tried the SQ A380 back in May and I enjoyed it.. even in Y. The seats are wider (19" instead of standard 17") and that does make a difference. And the AVOD is just awesome with the best screen resolution I have ever seen in an a/c.
Sure, CPH-BKK would be the only theoretical route for the A380 from CPH (for a second forgetting that the airport probably never will be able to handle the big bird). TG will receive their first 380's in a couple of years but the 3-cabin lay-out is tailor-made for FRA and LHR.

That is of course a very good point as well, as there won't be much F demand for CPH. I don't know of any airline that has a F-cabin to CPH at the moment? Not counting those old TG birds where business ticket holders are put in the old F-cabin

Irrespective of age one should be allowed to dream. Sorry for ruining your dreaming
I sometimes forget what it was like to have CPH as my home airport. I have become to accustomed to all the big birds always coming through LHR. Though CPH is still a better airport in many respects than LHR (except for maybe T5 now that it is working better).

Sadly thats the key to CPH never seeing A380 service. ARN and OSL are ready BTW and on the diversion list. Thats how MUC also occasionally gets some A380 action (mostly EK medicals).

Not sure. I reckon the lack of F demand might be just as much of a blocker at least for seeing a regular service. Without a consistent demand for F they would have to either fly empty (or close to) in F or get an A380 without F (which I'm not sure is even possible).
Now that we mention the diversion list, how many A380s have ARN and OSL actually seen yet? To my knowledge exactly none. Also ARN and OSL will probably never see a regular A380 service either, due to a similar lack of a consistent F demand.
Things may of course change, but with Janteloven still flourishing well in Scandinavia I'm not sure F cabins would even be allowed on planes landing in Scandinavia heh. Might cause massive riots
