Quick to explain that, lest someone might accuse you of taking a charter flight

A good friend of mine works as an airtraffic controller. He says that Arlanda has plans to adapt their faclillities for the 380. Anyone else heard about this?

This year, and next.

QF A380 has 450 seats in 4 classes. SQ A380 has 471 seats in 3 classes, incl. R. EK existing frames have 489 seats in 3 classes incl. R.

EK shall receive 517 seat frames in 3 classes incl. R next year. But in 2010, EK should get A380 frames with 604 seats in 2 classes, coach and business.

Sounds like EK is going the wrong way with this. More and more towards sardine can

If you wants to try sardin car in air, why not try it in Japan?

https://www.ana.co.jp/dom/inflight/s...b44/index.html
ANA B747 domestic: 569 seats

https://www.ana.co.jp/dom/inflight/s...b73/index.html
ANA B777 domestic: 524 seats

Those who already booked specical offer to Narita, can purchase "Star Alliance Japan Airpass".

What's about flying between Tokyo/Haneda and Okinawa in 2:45 h?
It can be good training in prior to A380 charter edition.

Because Corsair beats the 569 seats of ANA B747 with 589 seats of their 747. And they fly longer flights, too.

One heck of a difference between a couple of hours in Japan and 12 hours to HKT. But I agree with earlier poster, just vote with your feet. No need for legislation.

Air Austral seems to be going for it

http://www.airbus.com/en/presscentre...tral_a380.html

This is probably going to be a lot of fun once these machines are delivered. I wonder if they install extra bathrooms for this configuration...

With the current production backlog, it will be ages before these a/c are delivered though.

Cheers
