That's a good question

That's a good question that I have asked myself many times. Very strange that SAS Denmark and SAS Sweden takes really good care of their passengers in C and Y while for SAS Norway they are just like any other passenger.

SAS Norway gives you actually no benefits in C at all. On domestic flights you risk ending up on row 15-something, with no mid-seat blocking and without even a free drink.

Actually I think they have way too good times and really don't care.

I fly mostly with SAS Denmark and it's like another airline - compared to SAS Norway.

What is especially worrying is that it's damaging for the SAS brand which I guess most of us look upon as a quality and service brand.

Each country (SAS Norway, SAS Denmark and SAS Sweden) seem to have their own way of doing things and very little central brand control. I love SAS and hope they do something about it before they damage the entire experience.

There is no service on domestic Danish flights either... If you travel with SAS Norway internationally the service in C is exactly the same as SAS Denmark. I think SK_RSJ was just a little unlucky.

Well, the difference might be, that Danish dometic is typically up'n'down within 30-40 mins, while domestic in Norway might be up to three hours!

first longhaul as Pandion

Hi Guys,

Just returned from my first long haul since making EBP, unfortunately nothing special. It was a 3 day trip, April 13, IAD>CPH>AAL and return April 16, all in Y+

Check-in at IAD (had tried on-line but not able to check in for entire trip?), 15 min wait due to passenger with infant and ticket confusion. Declined invite to NW lounge, as always :-)

IAD>CPH: Seat 14A, all seats in C were full. Flight was ok, and actually arrived in CPH early - no special attention, asked for a glass of Sauternes, but polite no

Lounge CPH: used one of the day rooms, good as always - no special recognition

Flight CPH>AAL: seat 3E, full flight, no special attention

Check-in AAL: long lines everywhere, again tried to check-in but new problems. Is it just me or? seems if there is a US leg in the flight, there are issues with connections?

AAL>CPH: 1C, good flight, no special attention

CPH Lounge: Welcome back, good to see you again, and this was before seeing my new card :-) Service is always great here, I really feel they try - They asked if they could help with a better seat, was in 14C - unfortunately no chance for C, even with half empty flight. They gave me 14B and promnissed to block 14A

CPH>IAD: got on board, 2 min later a lady took seat 14A - waited for all on board, then moved to 14C, empty seat next to it. Flight was ok, early arrival in IAD, no special attention

Conclusion, I can not tell if there is any differece between EBG and EBP, do not understand why empty C seats are not given to EBP? or why they can not block seats? Service at CPH lounge is fantastic

Sorry for the long post, please let me know if anyone is interested in reading these reports

The domestic concept in all Scandinavian countries does not have C class or Y on domestic... It has to do with concept, not the length of flight.

That's not what SK_RSJ is talking about.. He's talking about the international flights operated by SASNO

Good report. Sad to read that there isn't actually anything special going on with SAS and Pandion. Not even seat blocking.

Keep the reports coming.

Yeah, they promised to block the seat for you and didn't follow through. Great service

In their defense, it could be an idiot of a GA who released the seat... No point in that happening when there are seats available in Y..

Maybe it is SAS way to tell in friendly way that Pandion members should fly with another airline? With an airline who blocks the seats for Gold members or prefers elite members?

Added another black credit card to my wallet today as SAS was kind enough to invite and pay the fees for Quintessentially membership. Thank you very much Eurobonus!

That is quite a nice benefit while many people state that basic membership of Quintessentially doesn't match what Amex provides. But anyway very good from SAS.

Guess you are right, but in all fairness to the lounge, they confirmed they had blocked the seat, when I walked towards the gate (noting that this was a Infant seat, and there was loads of room in Y+). Feel certain that this was "released" by GA.....
