Wasn't the Euro[something]lounge in between? AFAIR the newspaper delivery to the ARN lounge still has 'Eurolounge' address on it

Well I ordered a bunch of cloud shop items and no one ever asked for charge. The crew was far more attentive to me than to the C/Y cabin. And the purser came and asked if we wanted anything else a couple of times. Also they handed my 5yr old a Ludo game before take off (guess other kids got something too later in flight). Midflight the purser came to have a chat and said it must be nice to travel with the family for a change.
I am in complete shock.
I'm amazed! Ive been a P for 2-3 years and I gave up hoping for special recognition a long time ago, I would actually have been better off without the P status because the lack of attention is just annoying. Maybe something similar will happen to me on my next flight, but honestly I don't think so. I would say you just got lucky and met a purser who cares. Would be interested in knowing if this happens to you again.

SAS has apparently introduced a new layout of the pax manifest (I donīt think it is rolled out at all stations as of yet) which identifies EBP in bold. Also I think there is a special line of text there saying something in the lines of "donīt charge for BOB, secure meal choice". But I havnīt seen it myself.
I also think SAS have sent a special notice to all pursers (letter) explaining the importance of EBP during the month of august.
I have actuallly not paid for a single BOB item since july and I have done a number of swedish domestic flights. So something has actually changed if you ask me. Unfortunately can not tell on long haul as of yet.

Thumbs up

You guys might be interested to know about the no-blackout-dates on awards for EBP.
I have booked several EuroBonus awards (and cancelled a few) over the last weeks. All SK long haul flights have been zeroed in X, P and I-class (award buckets). And one flight ARN-EWR was even zeroed out in M and Y with only C3 on it.
But the agents have always fixed I-class award for me even on those flights! Very good service from SAS.
On a side note the procedure of opening up I-space is apparently to book me in A-class (always available) and then send a note to Space Control in Copenhagen about it for them to fix. In the meantime those flights are marked as First Class on checkmytrip.com. Cool.
I might be the first here to hold a reservation in A-class on SK? Not that I would ticket it...

No EBP xGermany...

I now have a clue as to why EBP (or SKP or SK*P) doesnīt show on the BP when checking in with LH handling. The EBP prefix is not (according to two CI agents at FRA First Class area today) recognized by the LH check in system as a valid Eurobonus prefix. So when the EB-number is entered with the EBP-prefix (from the reservation, by swiping the card or by typing it in manually) the system pulls up a screen to the agent asking to state if this number (ignoring the prefix) is *S or *G or basic (only choices). The agent obviously picks *G and, voila, you are now a lowly EBG in the system and on the pax manifest. And this is happening checking in for a native SK flight. Needs to be fixed. After all, there might come a purser that actually looks for EBP on the manifest and then itīs a pity íf it is not there.

Although SK checkin is done by LH in Germany, overall ground handling lies with Globeground who generates the manifest as per SK rules and probably using SK's system. You might want to address this to SK...

Have you ever tried access to the Swiss/LH honor circle lounges? I was told by Swiss check-in once that I could use it with EBG, but the lounge said no as it was not a hon circle equivalent. By rights, you should be able to gain access. Would be interesteing to hear how this went.

No access to LH first class lounge as either EBG nor EBP, only LH Hon or first class passengers, obviously.

Well, canīt tell if it is obvious or not. But I think the reason why SK doesnīt have an agreement on EBP access is because SK doesnīt operate a first class service. South African has a agreement in place with LH for special elites and VIPs regarding FC services as I understand it.
SQ does not give access at FRA and so on.

New Pandion offers (2/2008)

New edition of newsletter "Pandion Offers" (2/2008) have been sent out. Personally I don´t value these offers much as they are few and for fixed dates. You sure must be lucky in order to fit exactly any of these specific trips on these specific dates in to your schedule. These are the offers this time:

1. Beijing from Europe. 11-14 february 2009. two overnights, all meals and beverages, transportation, activities. 120,000 points for two persons (excluding flights). Special deal on SK993/SK994 on the above dates: 160,000 for Business Class award for two persons (regular price is 260,000 points) seat guarantee for two persons on the above dates if booking offer.

2. London soccer/football package. 20-22 march 2009. two overnights, transportation, activities, football tickets. 80,000 points for two persons (flights excluded). Premier League Fulham FC/Manchester United.

3. Austrian Alps (Saalbach). 19-22 march 2009. Three overnights, two dinners, transportation to/from MUC. 120,000 points for two persons (flights excluded).

My understanding is that SAS uses a travel agency for the arrangements but will have a EB representative to travel along.

In the leaflet sent out there are obviously a lot more details regarding the trips and also a full page letter from CEO Mats Jansson. No news, only the regular corporate BS. Must say they are not really making the most out of this communication channel...

A next year, thank you...

Got a letter from CEO Mats Jansson today saying they are actually renewing my Pandion membership! So together with the withdrawal of the increase in points needed for intra scandinavian awards and point upgrades I guess I will postpone my switch to M&M for some time.

First: Congratulations

I notice this thread starts one year ago. Isn't the Pandion membership automatically valid for two years at a time?

Or did they renew it for another two years?

Thatīs how it used to be three years back. These days pandion is for one year at the time only (April-April) with a soft landing to EBG.

Its a long time since we heard anything about your Pandion-travel experience. Have you been grounded?
