OT: But is DC Premium only offered in Finland or other Nordic countries as well? Is it comparable to Amex platinum or Centurion?
I don't know, even in Finland they don't promote it at all. And it is not even close to Amex Platinum in Finland in my opinion (Finland doesn't have Centurion, Platinum is invitation-only) while they kind of try to give you impression about same level of service. Okay, yearly fee isn't as high as Amex yearly fee.
They basically have concierge service (in Finland it seems to be shared with one of the banks), they have a little bit spiced travel insurance compared to the ordinary DC, they give SAS EBG to the card holder and then rest are purely DC related benefits (free of charge MasterCard with higher than ordinary limit, DC with higher credit, dedicated phone number for customer service). No car rental statuses/special agreements, no hotel benefits, not that kind of very nice travel insurance compared to Amex and so on.
I haven't used DC concierge so much, they seemed to be more travel oriented but not even very good at it. I like Amex service much more.
I would make a wild guess that it is available in other Nordic countries as well, but to get one you most likely need to call and ask (especially easy if the country has Amex Platinum/Centurion, just ask if the DC has anything similar because you have been thinking about switching your business to Amex ...).
I saw this "note" at the OSL FastTrack. Looks like SK at least tries to do something for their pandions. And the direct language in the note(in norwegian) sounds like SAS has experienced some problems with G4S, the security contractor.
I know I have not been posting in this thread regularly, but it is mainly because it is the same story every day - no recognition.
But today I was in a "This is it mood", travelling with two kids ARN-CPH in M. I admit I was dressed for leisure, t-shirt, jeans, sneakers.
When the BOB cart passed I ordered items both for my kids and myself (totalled something like SEK 200:-). Showing my Pandion MC and asking (this was a FA, not the purser) "Do you really charge Pandions for BOB?" (I have never done that before, humble as I am). She replied immediately: "Oh, I am so sorry didn´t notice." And I didn´t have to pay. About 10 minutes later the purser came by to apologize. Saying "I am so sorry, it was my fault I didn´t notice we had a Pandion on board." And chatted around for some five minutes. So, now there is at least a bunch of pax very curious about this "Pandion" thingy. he he.

Finally they do something! The sad thing is that they did not check the manifesto beforehand to see if they did have any Pandions, something that AC does and makes a point of coming to EBG's on each flight to welcome you on board and to say to them if I need anything.
BMI have a rule (quite clearly printed on the food borchure) that *G's on Star Alliance in M get free food, regardless of the travel class. They check the manifesto before take-off and bring food after business has theirs, free as promised. Not very hard to do!
If SAS really want to keep their best customers, they should take 5 minutes to check the manifesto, note the Pandions and Gold, then make sure they they get something to make their flight in M more pleasant. I would love to be on a discussion group with SAS to talk about this.
SK_RSJ: keep up the updates. This is the only way that SAS will improve their service as we all know that they read this forum

It wouldn't even take a minute. On the manifesto, the EBP, *G and *S are listed separately so the crew could if they cared, identify the EBP and *G in about the same time it takes to read this.........

When did they start to do that? My wife and I are both Star Gold and we took BMI to Nice last year, to Milan twice the year before from LHR. We had to pay like everyone else

Well done SK_RSJ!!
I fully understand you're not a "don't you know who I am" type of person, but what's the point of having a super-elite level if nobody cares?
I'm not that kind of person either, but perhaps that's the way to go to finally get some changes.
Considering the passenger manifest, I have looked at it plenty of times while waiting for the lavatory in an empty galley.
It is not hard to read, there is a special section with the elite passengers listed which is further sorted by class of travel.
It would take them less than a minute to go through it, when you see it you realise what little effort would be needed to make something positive out of it, at least on a flight with few status passengers onboard (I can understand if they don't manage on an ARN-CPH flight with 50 EBGs onboard).
But if they don't even bother to check for EBPs I guess there is very little hope for the rest of us.

I got it LHR-EDI this year, without even asking. As far as I know, it is standard.
If you read the gold benefits with BMI, you see how SAS could improve: 35% extra miles on BMI flights and 25% on all partner flights, gold for life once you have had it 10 years etc. If I still was based in London, I would switch to them. I always choose their flights over the SAS onces where possible.
Just got off a Lufthansa flight and had a man behind me who appeared to be HON Circle (the Lufthansa equivalent to EBP, for those who is not familiar with it).
Just after boarding was completed the purser approached this man, welcomed him onboard (using his name), introduced herself and asked if there was anything she could do to make his flight comfortable.
He actually had a wish (couldn't hear what he was as he spoke rather quietly, and in German) but whatever it was it was taken care of instantly.
That's the way to go!! SAS staff should really go on a training course at Lufthansa to see how to treat their top customers.

If you look at some old threads in the BMI forum (3-4 years ago) you will see things looked rather different back then.
They even went so low that they removed the extra 20 kg luggage for *G for a while. Back then I flew LHR-CDG quite regularly and so many benefits were removed that I started using alternatives.
But in contrast to SAS BMI has reacted. They re-introduced food for passengers who fly more than others and of course all the *G benefits are back.
SAS also removed the food and drinks in economy in 2004, but since then there hasn't been a single improvement onboard.

SAS Norway did introduce the free breakfast & coffee + tea on domestic flights - that's an improvement. Not a huge one but still something. I just wish this would be done company-wide on all routes - it is very confusing to have these separate entities. It even goes to the point that Amadeus will show on SK flight operated by SAS Norway with the OP (by) symbol. Why the same doesn't apply for SK SE, SK DK and SK International is beyond me.

That is becouse SAS Norway operated under a separate certificate (AOC). They operate under the old Braathens certificate and has Scanor as their call sign, while SE, DK and IC operates under the old SAS certificate and uses Scandinavian as their callsign

Thanks for the explanation, I suspected something like this was going on. But still, the question remains: why?! Does it have something to do with the fact that Norway is not part of the EU? How come before BU was fully absorbed into SK there was a single SK everywhere.

Yes
It has nothing to do with the EU, as Norway is member of the EEA. Why it is this way............no idea. But not all of SAS' choices can be said to be logical
