Star Alliance-operated business class lounges are available to persons who buy a paid lounge membership from AC, CO, UA or US.
Quote:
Paid Lounge Membership Customers: Eligible Paid Lounge Membership Customers have access to any Star Alliance member carriers' owned Business Class lounges.
* Eligible Paid Lounge Membership Customers include United Airlines Red Carpet Club, US Airways Club - Star Alliance Upgrade and Air Canada Maple Leaf Club – Worldwide
* Customer must present a valid eligible paid lounge membership card
* Customer must also present a boarding card for a same day Star Alliance flight departing from the local airport.

So want to ditch having to (re-)qualify for EuroBonus Gold and still get lounge access, the 4 North American Star Alliance carriers -- Air Canada, Continental Airlines, United Airlines and US Airways -- might have a deal for you even if you don't fly enough to earn Star Gold status.
The paid lounge membership with CO is $475 the first year for one person or $700 the first year for a member and the member's spouse.

Though it is hinted, one could really hope that they will one day realize that "quality" is the way rather than further cost-reductions since they will always lose that battle to the LCCs.
The whole StarMegaDo was awesome from beginning to end. Huge kudos to Tommy777, Oliver2002, Xyzzy and all the others behind this amazing event. Lufthansa really went all-in on us and treated us like rockstars the whole time.
The go-around at TLS in our 757 was something to remember!
I'll post pics and more later - some of the events such as the Airbus Factory tour (A380!) and Lufthansa Technical Tour was sealed off from cameras though...
Being ill, in what could be the swine flu, always means alot of TV for me. Today I stumbled upon the show Stockholm-Arlanda program and I remembered that Bjornstrom was in it? Which episode since I want to see it.

The DO was indeed spectacular and something that most of us who participated will probably never forget.
The whole program was simply amazing and truly close to perfection, just arriving at OSL in the morning to find a dedicated Flyertalk check-in desk was an experience itself.
Seeing the Airbus mock-up cabin center in Toulouse was also terrific, that's the place where Airbus and the airlines meet to discuss the cabin design of new aircrafts. All major Airbus aircrafts were present there with cabins you could enter in scale 1:1.
I bet that's a place very few people get to see.
SAS also did a wonderful job at Gardemoen with a great singing flight attendant who walked out on the wing of a Boeing 737 to sing "Fly me to the moon" in front of a delighted audience.
The Boeing 737 on display had been converted to an ambulance, like they did after the tsunami in 2004 to get injured people back from Thailand.
I think it will still take a few more days before I have finally managed to absorb everything we got to experience.
As the other posters regards MEGADO2009.....this was nothing short of an amazing event. Really unforgettable to seeing all those dedicated Flyertalkers...we really had a great time. And SK/LH and others really went all the way this time
