Long Haul gremlins continue

It seems that sas has rented the Hi-Fly a340-500 to help with the two birds still grounded.

Must be one of the first sas flights ever with onboard bar.

A345... fancy... these were ordered by KFA about 10 years ago to fly SFO-BLR direct. KFA went belly up and the aircraft were never inducted but went to Arik instead.

Could have been an opportunity to catch the last type of the A330/A340 series I have not been on. But with the short stint I will not be around to try.

Well, on the bright side, I'd imagine it'd be a nicer ride for Go pax, regardless of the originally scheduled aircraft. Extra seat pitch, better IFE, and a bar? They'll be ecstatic! A340 Business pax also win, since they'll get a flat bed seat. IMHO, those expecting the new staggered seating on the A330s probably won't be too disappointed, because those seats don't look half bad. I'd certainly take it over LH or UA 2-2-2/2-3-2/2-4-2 configurations in C.

But just like those on LN-RKP, Plus pax lose out, unless they get upgraded... Since they stopped selling Plus tix on ex-LAN (thank goodness), I wonder how they'll work things out for the affected Plus pax.

Give 15.000 points to pax who complain and are pushing for compensation. At least that's what they did for poor Plus pax which ended up on LN-RKP in the past.

19JUL15
SK946 ORD-ARN 18JUL15 (19JUL15 07:50 UTC)
SK946 ORD-ARN 18JUL15 diverted back to ORD due technical reasons.

Flight operates 19JUL15 as SK6900 ORD-ARN.

SK945 ARN-ORD 19JUL15 delayed.
LN-RKN took a day off in ORD on 18-19JUL

LN-RKP seems to be the spare right now.

I watched this unfold on fr24. Booked on SK901 20/7 and was prepared for a sub to an old 343 because RKP was used as a spare (for an ARN flight the day before) Luckily enough sometime before my flight they ferried her back to CPH from ARN as SK9227 to operate my 901

Right, I think 901/902 don't operate over the weekend, so if there's a problem with a different aircraft on a weekend, it makes sense that they would use LN-RKP. Otherwise it sits around in CPH for two days!

That's correct which also means that the return SK910 EWR-CPH will be cancelled tonight.
