Just received a quite interesting offer from EB: Get triple qualifying points on all SAS-flights between January 1 and March 15. The biggest hurdle with this: you need to book the flights before year end.
BTW: I can’t see if this campaign is targeted. I am EBG, but my qualifying account has just be zeroed because I have entered a new qualifying period.
This is potentially very valuable. Would love to know if this will become standard practice. Then I would wait with my reservations until my counter zeroes out :P

Unfortunately, no major travel plans until March on SK and I would need a huge amount of EP points anyway, so it seems that I may not benefit from this promo
In addition, the "book before 31 Dec 2012" makes this promo of even less value to me.
If I had gotten thst offer I might have been inclined to credit flights to eb and book with SK in jan-march since my qualifying period start feb 1 but I doubt Ill get this offer, I never seem to get them... So will most likely credit the flights to TK and fly TK or UA, but will be intresting to see if I get this offer or not...

Might be worth a quick trip to chicago for some shopping one RT in economy extra or business should get you EBG for 1-1,5 years

I think it is the same. Normal points for use+qualifying AND double qualifying-points=triple qualifying.

My Q year ends April, and without this promo, the Gold Card most likely would have expired.
I am EBS (part of the program from february, became ebs on august, was planning to become ebg on march next year) and I also received this promotion. I fly to CPH every 2nd weekend and sometimes even more, so my travel dates are very predictable and I feel confident in investing this month's salary in booking all the flights! I am going to be gold in no time... thanks SAS!! <3 <3
P.S. will this promotion, in your opinion, cause the creation of a horde of new EBG early next year, to the detriment of fast tracks, lounges, etc.?

I don't think so. A bit maybe, but basically I assume that this booster will fundamentally just keep the people in gold that would otherwise slip down to EBS or EBB. Probably SAS needs/wants to have a certain amount of loyal and spending EBGs (even though they may be a bit expensive in lounge etc).
one RT in economy extra or business should get you EBG for 1-1,5 years
