SAS launching 45 new routes!

What a week! From near bankrupcy to launching 45 new routes!

So lets guess what the new routes are.
Id say the majority will be from CPH/OSL/ARN to mid-range European destinations. But heres what Im hoping for:
TRD - DUB
TRD - LGW/LHR
TRD - CDG
TRD - MAN
OSL - LCY
OSL - BOD

Just to mention a few..

What routes are you hoping for or predicting?

Local newspaper said they'll stop the VAA-CPH in March 2013 that Blue1 introduced this year so maybe they have 45 new routes while they remove a bunch of "old" ones.

Not really surprising tbh. Setting up new routes doesn't happen over night but takes months of planning so this was initiated long before the public got to learn about the near closure of the company...

Can't predict anything, but definately HOPING for at least another option or two from KRS to mainland Europe. With Flynonstop opening in the spring, and typically better prices from KLM, SAS is soon going to lose most if not all of my inter-European business. I'll definately stick with them for long haul as I like their onboard service, the ability to utilize Optiontown and stand-by point upgrades, but have been driven away the past year due to their pricing out of KRS and inferior short haul economy product.

So if they are being ambitious again, does that mean they'll be upgrading the C cabin on their long-haul fleet?

I hope so, they really need a flat seat. My hopes would be for the one Swiss has. I have yet to see a better solution for the A340/A330.

You got me all excited there for a moment...

Doubt any of the new routes will be to/from Trondheim!

I would like to see CPH-LGW as an alternative option to LHR.

More direct flights from CPH to the U.S., perhaps CLT which is a *A hub (US), or alternately ATL, MCO, MIA? Although I doubt the new routes are TATL other than the already-announced CPH-SFO.

Or how about CPH to Bermuda or the Caribbean if we're dreaming?

New routes

Well, since we are dreaming: OSL-TXL (eventually BER). I know many think it would not make sense due to competition from LCC, but it would be great for me :-)
Not to mention the even more unlikely OSL- TLV, I would be the number one customer!

I hope they will open CPH-CTA that used to be flown twice a week by Cimber Sterling!

Well, 45 routes in one shot sounds like quite a lot, so I expect that these are going to be fairly sparse connections (time-wise). Like the one you mention.

Anybody who knows the state of the Airbus 330/340, in relation to service??

eg. if they are close to do a D-ckeck on them, it would be very convenient to do the C-class upgrade at the same time!

How the heck are they going to expand with 45 routes with the current metal? On top of that, media reported that they are phasing out the Mad Dogs...

Well, they are cutting a lot of routes as well. For some reason they don't send out press releases about that.
