Connect time in OSL enough?
Good day! I may be flying on SK 908 (EWR-OSL) arriving at 8:20 am connecting to JP7134 (Adria Airways) OSL-TLL. We only have 55 min between flights. Assuming SK 908 is on time is that too little time? Do we clear customs in OSL or not until final destination TLL? We will be in business class on SK 908 and US citizens if that makes a difference. Thank you so much!

Being US citizens does make a difference, as we like our revenge and make you wait in the slower "All Passports"-line for immigration.

OSL MCT was adjusted:
New MCT:
Changed MCT in OSL
Effective 01MAY16, the MCT, Minimum Connecting Time, in OSL will be changed for passengers arriving from a Non-Schengen area for travel domestic in NO and departing on nonstop flights from LYR via OSL.
Reservations already made for travel on/after 01MAY16 may be kept as booked, if no other alternative available. A warning will be shown at End of Transaction if any changes are made in PNR, but can be ignored

Transiting in OSL - Asking for an earlier flight?
Hi,
I have OSL-FRA-SEA-FRA-OSL booked with LH. My flight back to OSL is scheduled for arrival at 11.50AM. I will continue my trip to HEL from OSL. I am thinking of buying an SK flight at 2.45pm. Two questions:
1. Would LH check my bag through to HEL at the check-in in SEA?
2. If the flight back to OSL is in schedule, do you think there would be any chances that SK would allow me to take their 12.50am flight to HEL (if there are seats available), without paying extra fees?
Thanks in advance.

1. I can't answer and will leave to someone else
Unless you buy a flexible ticket, I doubt it. At OSL on SK I've been allowed to take an earlier flight once, but it took a lot of persuading and I think it was done 'as a favour'. I was on a single ticket all the way through.
The context was that my inbound flight was early, the flight I'd normally connect to off of that inbound wasn't operating that week, and so I either had a 2 hour layover or could walk straight on to the earlier plane. Luckily, they let me change to the earlier plane but it took a little bit of waving my ugly white and black plastic card at them .
I think if one had checked baggage this would be impossible.

2. Unlikely. The best option is to book a Plus seat but even then SK usually zeros out the cheaper fare classes a few days out and even than the Plus ticket won't give you the option to book onto the earlier flight with no extra costs. Best option is to go the transfer desk (had most success there) and politly ask them if there is a possibility to get on the earlier flight. For me, that works out often enough (although as EB Diamond and in CPH rather than OSL)

Surely the LH check-in agent in SEA couldn't care less about this.

Last year I inquired about getting on an earlier CPH-ARN flight (I was in SAS Go and inquired at the gate of the earlier SK flight). I was told that you need to be in SAS Plus or be EBD to get on earlier flight - otherwise rebooking is needed.

I travel on the ARN-OSL route quite often and I have had some luck in OSL with getting on an earlier flight booked in SAS Go. The ticket desk doesn't do anything unless you have a flexible ticket, however if you go to the gate where the earlier flight is boarding, politely wait until the boarding is finished and then ask if they can spare a seat for you, usually if a seat is available they put you in it. I'm just a lowly SAS EBG but it still works most times.
Of course if you have checked in luggage, this will not work.

I tried to catch an earlier flight with SAS from OSL to CPH last week with checked luggage and cannot recommend it. Long story short: I didn't get on the earlier flight and my luggage didn't arrive in CPH either...
On my way to the airport I called SAS and asked them to put me on standby for the earlier flight. That was no problem at all. At the check-in counter they tagged my luggage with a "standby" tag, so that it could easily be removed from the aircraft in case I didn't get on the flight. Sounded logical to me.
The good thing is, even though I was booked on SAS Go, they gave me a SAS Plus ticket (C) for the earlier flight, just without seat assignment. That meant I could use fast track security and also access the lounge.
When it was time to board, I stood patiently by the gate, but there were 5 other passengers with standby tickets and I'm only Eurobonus Silver, meaning I was the last in line and didn't get on the flight. Upon arriving in CPH on my original flight, my luggage was lost. I assume that's due to the whole standby situation.
So, cannot recommend it if you are not a higher status member with Eurobonus.
