Internet coming back flying intercontinental?

Flying SK996 resently the commercial screen told that SK is about to open up for internet onboard again, anyone knows when?

As I recall it was from March 2011.

What SAS has said: (press release from October 2010)

"We are currently negotiating with a number of service providers and aim to offer our premium customers free internet onboard our flights, starting already in April next year."

And:

"SAS' Boeing 737s will be the first to have in-flight connectivity installed, and initially offered on Norwegian domestic routes, and from Oslo and Stockholm to London, Frankfurt and Paris. In the first phase, nine B737s will offer the service, followed by short-haul and long-haul aircraft."

Any update on this?
I am flying ARN-EWR-SFO tomorrow and was hoping for this on the longhaul.

I just verified this with SAS (via Facebook) and they seem to have a pretty substantial delay going on for this project. The new timeframe is "fall/winter 2011", which probably means within 12 months from today's date.

Very disappointing, I must admit. What's the use of making a big market launch and claiming availability in March 2011, if the real date is a full year away...?

Seems like a bad rerun of their iPhone App launch.... :td:

As stated above, in my earlier post, inflight Internet onboard SAS is expected to launch late fall or winter 2011/2012, so I can't imagine that there will be any early test phase even during your April flights.
