Festival of Sail

Visitors and locals, the Festival of Sail takes place July 23-27 on the SF waterfront. More than a dozen of the grandes dames of sailing ships will come under the golden gate bridge on 7-23. Ship tours, sailing and cannon battles on the bay. Info at (415) 307-1382.
Should be a fun weekend.

My family's boat will be in the parade. You can see pictures at http://www.pbase.com/rcullen/gold_star

If you haven't been before it's a treat to see. There are some really beautiful ships that go.

I happen to be a fourth generation San Franciscan, and yes! The ferry from Sausalito to the City at sunset, passing through banks of fog rolling in under the half exposed Golden Gate, that's a treat even we natives treasure. Although I suppose, like most natives, I'd rather you spent your holidays in Honolulu or Miami and left SF for us San Franciscans.

Incidentally, Mrs. Madrigal was from Nevada.
