Best 4.5* Plus Hotel Deal in San Francisco

Hi all,

I would love to reserve 3 nights in a 4 or 5 star hotel in San Francisco for my friends from Nov 7 to Nov 10. Any killer deals around that will go down easy on my student budget.

Thanks!

Since you seem to be open to any 4-5* hotel in SF, and you are booking last minute, you could consider a Priceline "name your own price" bid. Other might chime in on a recommended bid price, but perhaps $80-$90/night for a 4star using the bidding option.

This is going to get moved to the San Francisco forum, but there are quite a few deals going on right now; recommend you start with Travelzoo offers & go from there. Since it's a weekend, rates should be favorable; Monday night might be higher.

The hotel deals forum is not an appropriate place for deal requests, so I'll go ahead and move the thread to the SF forum.

I second the Travelzoo and PL suggestions. I just completed a stay at the IC Mark Hopkins for $99/nt. Good luck with your search!

for the lowest dollar deals

Priceline is your friend. See www.betterbidding.com or www.biddingfortravel.com for some guidelines on what to bid.

There are sometimes even deals to be had through the hotels' normal booking channels (e.g., hilton.com for Hilton, etc.). I managed to nab one night (a Friday coming up) at the Hilton SF Financial District for only $96.75 + tax (total $111.81). This is NOT a prepaid, nonrefundable stay like Priceline/Hotwire -- rather it is the special Visa rate for 25% off the "Best Available Unrestricted Rate." Cancel policy is 3 days prior to stay. Earns all HHonors benefits, i.e., points, stay credit, plus Gold (or other elite level) benefits (breakfast, room upgrade), etc.

I realize this is not really a 4.5 star property, but if you're willing to lower your lofty standards a notch, it's worth looking into.

This rate requires that you have, and pay with, either a Visa Signature or Visa Infinite card (does NOT have to be a Hilton HHonors Visa specifically).

Start at this page (first step is to enter part of your Visa card number to authenticate it) and be sure to read the Terms & Conditions of this promo:
