I love these bags because I'm paranoid when I travel. Does the steel strap make a difference? I have no idea.

I have another model and I bought this one because it had two zippered compartments instead of one. Since I wear them under my jacket or sweater, the strap comfort is important and this one has an uncomfortable strap. I did cut off a piece of the strap to see f that would help and it didn't - but it is fully functional and adjustable. If oyu would wear it over a sweater or shirt it's perfect.
