I have started receiving paid emails for ONE point instead of the usual five. Hope this does not portend the end of an excellent rewards program- one point an email will not be worth the time to click thru.

Wow. You are right. I just got one yesterday for Stubb's Amazing Dad's Day BBQ that was only for one point. I don't remember seeing any alert or warning from MP about this.
I agree that clicking through for one point is not worth it. Heck, five points hardly is. If that continues to be the case then I will set my account to NOT receive emails from them, make a purchase or two through their portal to top off my account for the award that I want, then close it out.

I received the Stubb's BBQ email and it said 5 points for just clicking the email. Perhaps they are sending out different point values to different members? Or, it could have been a computer mess up?
Any emails that I've received with a paid clickthru for points have been at 5 points. However, I've noticed that I'm seeing an increased number of emails that don't pay for the clickthru at all. I think I started noticing those with the January onslaught of diet and fitness adverts.
Mine have all been for 5 points so far - I just keep wondering why I put up with all the emails (and the surveys that disqualify you as soon as you enter your age and zip code - which of course they already know). Looking at the prize list there really isn't much worth looking at emails for a year to get - or am I missing something?

I received this e-mail for one point as well, but it was the only one for one point.
A subsequent e-mail was for five points.
I remember when MyPoints used to give 10 points simply for reading e-mails.

I noticed this even before that, starting with the eBay e-mails last year.

MyPoints is a good rewards program, but I would not go so far as to say it is an excellent rewards program, which it used to be years ago when it was more generous with awarding points, with redemptions at a lower cost of points.

I've thought about that and just skip the surveys altogether. I've decided that clicking on the link isn't that onerous, so I keep doing it. But if they dropped the point values to one point, I'd be looking elsewhere.
I also got the Stubb email worth 1 point. However, that's the only 1 point email I've received. Hopefully we will not be seeing additional ones ... tls

Where I really rack up the points is for purchases that I would have already made anyways (Office Depot for work, etc.). I pretty much consider clicking on emails to be activity in order to keep my account active between purchases. I don't even try to do the surveys any more, since I never qualify anyways.
