I'm picturing a reality TV show like Big Brother where everyone is just bored.
During the day they put is in bed, turned the lights off, closed the window shades, and checked how quickly we could fall asleep 4 times a day. If you fall asleep then they woke you up immediately. Then do it again 2 hours later. We arrived in the morning, so the first day was the worst, since we all wanted to sleep so bad but as soon as we did sleep we would get woken up again right away. We couldn't go to sleep until the night time! They said I looked the most tired with bleary eyes. ha.

I just signed up and got my physical scheduled for 2 weeks out. One interesting bit that was mentioned in their screening was whether I'd be OK without a laptop as long as I had access to my email. No word on whether they'd take away my BB also. Either way, I'm happy to bring a few books along and go with the flow.
Sure, no points, but certainly an interesting opportunity and I don't have much else going on over the next several weeks anyways.
Also, they are saying on the webpage that you should call if you have near-term availability, as they have been overwhelmed by the online responses.
well, i called the number, passed the prescreen questions, and then spoke to a CSR who asked for my name and number. They said they will call me back next week to ask a few more questions. Considering all the flying I have done this year, and the fact that I usually drag myself straight to the office after an 11-12 hour flight, I should be a good candidate...
don't mind not doing any sightseeing... i'll bring a few books and use the cash on a future trip...
Interesting. I saw an ad about this program posted on the Atlanta Craigslist site. This study is from a company called Neurotrials Research Inc, based out of ATL. They advertise the same deal: Fly to France and back, 5 days, but they advertise UP to $2,500. Anyways I tried to find the original post on craigslist but couldnt. Here is the info from their website:
Jet Lag Study
NeuroTrials Research, Inc. in Atlanta, Georgia is conducting a real life scientific trial of an investigational medication for the treatment of jet lag. Qualified participants will receive medical exams and sleep studies in Atlanta and then be flown to a sleep research laboratory in France to undergo further testing. Participants will be compensated up to $2500 for study completion.
Qualified participants must:
be 18-65 years of age
have a valid passport and must be willing to take off 5 days in a row to fly to France for assessments
have experienced jet lag symptoms, such as excessive daytime sleepiness when you flew east or west, on at least 1 occasion during the past 5 years

If you are interested in participating in this study, please CONTACT US.
I tried to register but was not eligible. I didnt see anywhere on the site that said they were linked with the OP's company based out of NYC, so this may help out some people who were interested who live in the Southeast

It is the same study. I know this because just as our New York group were departing the facility in France, the Atlanta group was arriving.
