Depends on the airline, how it goes bankrupt, and who (if the airline liquidates) gets that particular asset. They may be totally unaffected, like when UA went into (and then exited) bankruptcy... they may be rolled into the acquiring airline, like TWA's miles rolled into AA... or they may go "bye bye" like Aloha. That's entirely independent of LSC, of course.

Probably not. In the case of Ansett Australia, when the airline went bankrupt the miles and the frequent flyer program went with it.

Well considering we have already had a few lately, as long as oil stays elevated there will be more unfortunately.

Some of the smaller airlines won't make it and the bigger top five or so, will be looking for mergers to survive.

As mentioned in one of the above posts, miles sometimes do survive a BK and sometimes not.

The best thing that we can all hope for, is for oil to come down, if it continues up, the entire air industry will be in line for big changes, with our hard earned FF miles becoming devalued in a big way.

I had ordered two AA redemptions 6/15 (1000 miles) and 6/17 (100 miles). The 100 posted with a date of 7/4 while there is still no sign of the 1000 miles. Should I be concerned at this point?

I would not be concerned.

Previous posts indicate that AA Tuesday is coming. So many who are redeeming for AA miles find this to be the case.

I redeem mostly for Delta, and for others just to keep activity in accounts, but this board believes in "AA Tuesday."

Good luck.

My last post included a prize redeemed on 16 June, but not the prize redeemed 22 June. I presume the cutoff date for the last round of postings was between 16-22 June. So I wouldn't worry...yet.

the weird thing about his results is that the redemption from 6/15 didn't post and the one from 6/17 did... my last post was from a redemption on 6/18.. so, if there is any logic, urs should have posted.. but then again, it is microsoft.
I would wait til next tuesday, since they just started posting again. they might still have backlog... oh and make sure u didn't get any refund. if u did, u have to replace ur order.

More often than not, AA miles post/appear on a Tuesday, hence some here are talking about AA Tuesday!

Good luck!

I've been disappointed the 3 weeks w/ AA tuesday.

I'm not getting my hopes up for 2morrow.

Maybe it will finally show up, if i don't expect it.

I had another non-acknowledged redemption yesterday. I received an order number, and points were deducted, but I didn't receive an email confirmation and it's not listed under my redemptions. A succeeding redemption went through fine. I guess I just lost 4300 tickets, but considering how many they gave me after their foul-ups, I'm certainly not going to complain to them.
