How the heck do you guys get so many points? I've used anagram solvers on the chicktionary and word slugger and done the flexicon game, and the most I'm getting is 1000 points in around 4 hours. This is very tedious. Maybe because I hate games.
Do you guys just love playing? Am I missing something here?
You must just not be as fast a typist as others. The normal time is usually around an hour to get your 1000 points. I can go much faster with Flexicon, but the recently added games slow me down quite a bit.
Do I love playing? Yes...but I love flying for free even more. That's my motivation.
AA posted a ton this morning. Right now it's 3 degrees outside. This time next year I'll be somewhere around the equator where it's just a little warmer.....all for free.

I don't deny I'm not a very quick typist. That's probably the difference in our successes. That and I end up forgetting to go back every day to get another 1000. I don't doubt many of you have recieved tons of miles - I've deposited 250 miles three times, but nothing amazing so I guess I just haven't been motivated as much. I just wanted to make sure that there wasn't some secret trick I am missing out on. I haven't followed this thread in a while.

With anagram solver I can do Word Slugger/Spelling Bee/Chicktionary 1000 points within one hour. Maybe a quick typer?

You are not really missing any tricks or anything, a lot of folks around here have been playing for awhile, and some have multiple accounts. So with the daily limits of 1000 tickets per person per day, you can amass a fair amount of tickets in a short time.
Family members today received AA postings of several 1,000 miles awards--posting dates were 12/28-12/30, with redemption dates of 12/8-12/9.
Here's a thought regarding the new restrictions on mileage awards:
The first post I can find regarding an official notice of mileage award restrictions on the LSC website was on 12/19, post #3168 by freakazoid. So far most (not all) reports are that posts are still going through, but the latest redemption date seems to be 12/15. (One exception was holmedown, who posted in #3355 of a 12/20 completed redemption for a second 1,000 mile award.)
Is it possible that the restrictions will kick in for redemptions after 12/18, around the time when the restrictions were apparently first officially posted by LSC? In other words, will redemptions before that date effectively be "grandfathered"?
If so, then we may have a better idea during the next 1-2 weeks of what's going to happen to this game. During the next few weeks, many of the posts should start to correspond to redemptions that took place after 12/18.

Computer speed (and bandwidth to a lesser degree) can affect the per puzzle completion times. I used to use a fast laptop and when using a full size keyboard I got fast times. The family computer was noticeably slower but with recently maxing out its memory I have seen a marked improvement in game speed.
Think about a 1000 in Flexicon is 40 puzzles and in the anagram puzzles is 50. Every extra second for a slower computer to process the loading between puzzles is multiplied by the above. Also a slower computer can add up fractions of seconds in the responses within the puzzles.
My AA account showed a new 2,500 mile posting this morning. It came from my redemption on Dec 12th. It was my only AA redemption that hadn't posted. So I'm now good on AA.

A few questions:
1. I thought you could only redeem one award per account. For example, only one 250 mile certificate on Delta is allowed on your account or can you redeem one 250 mile certificate on Delta, AA, etc. with only one account?
2. Using the anagram solver, do you worry about typing in the words in a random order?
3. About every three games, I have to revalidate that I am typing in the words...I receive a pop-up with letters/numbers that I must type in before I can proceed and I must do this twice which takes time. Does anyone else have that problem? Could it be because I am using my laptop/aircard? I do not type in the words in alphabetical order or sequentially. Any other ideas? Because with the pop-up validation, it also usually takes me four hours to earn 1000 points and I'm a fast typist.

Thanks for the advice...
The pop-ups you are getting are "captchas" -- a validation tool that many websites use to make sure entries are being made by a human rather than an automatic or robotic program (aka a "bot").
You're probably getting them because *you do* type fast. Not really any way around them, except to slow down a bit, or at least vary the speed at which you are entering your answers.
But, no... Don't worry. You're not doing anything wrong.

HTH,
TMichaels
I get these annoying Captchas in the middle of a puzzle sometimes, usually while I am doing the 3 letter words as I have been doing this long enough I have memorized the words for common letter combinations and can go VERY quickly. As I don't particularly enjoy puzzles and do them while I have Oprah on in the background, I just want to get it over with as quickly as possible. It takes me usually 1.5-2 hours to get through my 1000 points depending on what's on tv.

Until we see a pattern with redemptions occurring on 12/19 or later (the first notice of the specific T&C changes), we have no idea if LSC is bluffing or actually restricting the number of awards to one.
If the restriction is actually implemented, I also will be interested in whether a person can get the 2,500-mile award and others with multiple airlines without starting a new account.

4 hours? You must be doing something wrong. It takes me an hour and 20 minutes give or take 5 minutes to max out at 1000 points for any of the word games. I'm a decent typer at around 40 wpm but my computer connection isn't that fast(slow DSL). Some have reported doing the games in about an hour which I can't fathom but I assume they are even faster typers and very fast internet connections. One basic thing about using any of the solvers is to have split screens with your solver screen on the left half side and your game screen on the right half side in order to save you from toggling back and forth on the screens. Other than that, I'm not sure why it would take you 4 hours or anything close to that. My friend is a slow typer at around 20 wpm and it takes him a bit less than 2 hours. When doing Flexicon, some of the best advice I got here was to do it on Firefox (since this seems to prevent the screen from constantly jumping to the bottom randomly) and to click on the magnifying glass no more than 4 times consecutively fast before pausing for a brief spell in order to avoid constantly setting off the captcha boxes.
