Which airline gives me the best value for mileage redemption? Meaning, which would have the most availability at the cheapest mileage levels and would have the fewest restrictions? Any insight would be appreciated. Happy Holidays!
As your profile says you're a NW PE, I'd go with DL. When the programs combine, it's all one happy bucket. And if you redeem DL awards before the accounts combine, does your NW status get you any benefits? And with the impending DL mileage devaluation for NW FFP accounts, the more RDMs, the better.
SkyTeam (DL), OneWorld (AA) and StarAlliance (US) are all represented, as well as "the minors" (AS, F9, HA, YX). And AS and HA have many redemption options for other airlines. So I guess it's all in what works best for you.

For example AA cut off is a Sunday and they are currently posting 4 weeks later.
US postings used to be 15 calendar days after redemption, like clockwork. Not sure after the "Nov Event". I've been asking about US for days now. Has anyone had US postings recently? Or has anyone had any postings besides AA/DL?
As per DL, hearing back of some 12/5 redemptions that didn't make it, so they're looking forward to next Mon.

Oh, so US doesn't have an official "sweep" day like AA Tuesday and DL Thursday?

Received another two DL postings after the T&C change - 2 and 3 December were my next pending redemptions according to the spreadsheet of all DL miles I accumulate (given all the bonuses and promotions, I had to go to Excel).

sbagdon, that is quality thinking. I was thinking to do that, but I am also interested in having mileage on another airline so that if at one point, I need to redeem an award to a specific destination and DL isn't working well for a cheap mileage level, I could do it on that other airline. What's US's availability at the "Saver" type of level like? Are they one of the worst or one of the better?

All postings are accounted for, with none lost in that black hole, thankfully.
I guess I wasn't being clear in my post. I meant all of my orders between 11/1 and 11/15 didn't go thru. And judging from this thread quite a few other people is experiencing the same.

Miles to be Deposited: 1000
Hearing back of unposted US 11/27 2500s, and US 12/05 1000s. At this point, starting to wonder if Nov (for some people, for some redemptions and airlines) is a black hole.

Thought it was DL Mon and Thu? US and HA "sweeps" used to be daily, 15 calendar days between redemptions and posting.

Can't speak on US saver availability. US appears to have the worst rep (at least from Elites), so the miles are really only good for getting on Star Alliance. And as a humorous data point, points.com is returning $85 Amazon gift certificates for 100,000 Dividend miles. Yes, it's a weak data point, yet still laugable... at least AA returns $425 Amazon gift certificates for 100,000 AAdvantage miles.
Most people seem to be going with AA as an "alternative", as all miles count towards MM status (even LSC)... two birds with one stone, travel and MM status.

Worse at what? Delay of posting? Lost redemptions?

Multiple reports back of US postings, all 12/5 redemptions for 12/27 postings. All reports were for multiple redemptions of the same mileage amount, from one LSC account into one US account. Including Posting Complete emails with matching LSC trans numbers.

LSC and AI seem to have skipped over a series of redemptions for us.
All US.
Everything pre-11/20 has cleared.
All redemptions 11/25-12/1 has disappeared into the ether.

When I am reading the AA site, it appears you have to have qualifying flight miles to be upgraded? Or am I not reading it properly. None of my miles on my AA account are listed under the Elite Qualifying status.

The MM is million miler - on AA, when one earns a million miles from any source (flight or not) they currently earn lifetime Gold status. The EQMs are flight miles for status that's year-to-year (rather than lifetime).
