Yeah - not really a good payback. But I could take that and sell it (if I could get it past my daughter LOL!!!) and use the $$ to put towards a discounted seat on airtran or someone else that didn't participate in the program.
I saw the new disclaimer on the redemption page so I of course ran straight over to this thread. Seems like everybody else has thrown in the towel too...
Oh well...maybe I'll try for a Zune then.
That Zune is a bit outdated, and it was only 20,000 tickets a few months ago. I would rather go to MSN's frequent shopper site (http://frequentshopper.msn.com/) to win an iPod.
Oh yeah, maybe it will be worth playing for an XBox. Although I don't consider it the bargain that the FF miles are.
And will the XBox still be offered as a prize when you have enough tickets to redeem? I only ask because I considered going for the KitchenAid mixer for 35,000 tickets until I realized that was a huge cost for a $249 item. Then they eliminated it from the prizes anyway.

I'm going to keep playing for now. The only thing I'm wasting is my time while I'm watching TV. If they refund, I'll go for a bigger prize - Xbox, Office, or maybe the cookbooks.
Which airline?

Redeeming is easy, getting the miles to post since the t/c change is the hard part.
I know, but the last redemptions before the hickup were delayed, but still posted within the 30 day-timeframe. The redemptions after the hickup are still within this timeframe, so only next week we will now for sure if it:
1- continues like normal (and besides the hickups and knowing the past, this is still the one I'm thinking about - they are still within their own timeframe, you know!)
2- don't post at all (this is the most unlikely part AFAIK)
3- will be restored without posting (for all of you with a US address: there are other redemptions possible, although noone here really wants that)
4- or even: will post with another delay (it will take longer than 30 days) = and when they don't post within the timeframe, this is the most likely alternative; they could need some more time because of correcting their problems and/or the holidays)
So I guess it will be 1 or 4. I don't want to think about 2 and 3 at this point.

Yes, only time will tell on the remaining postings left hanging out there, most will probably post at some point, and some will never post and will disappear for good for unknown reasons.
But one thing is for sure, the game has now changed, with the one prize redemption per customer restrictions in place.

There are plenty of miles missing before the break, which is well beyond the 30 day limit, but that wasn't what people are panicking about anyways. It's the fact that ff miles are now explicitly limited to one redemption per type (2500, 1000,...) and household.
The redemption I did last night was for AA - 2x 1000 miles (someone asked above). So we'll see what happens when the 3 or 4 week time frame runs out - I was just very surprised it didn't prohibit me from doing it immediately with a message.
What irritates me with the whole thing is that it would be a bit nice if they made it at least noticeable or e-mailed etc that terms are changing. Then to change twice in a month - give me a break. I seriously would not have even noticed the change on the redemption screen if someone had not pointed it out. So used to just entering thru those screens....
If they don't have the Xbox as points accumulate I am sure they will have something of some type of value. If they do not, they really might as well shut it down as being able to only get 1 t-shirt, 1 ringtone redemption of each level, etc will have people quitting in about a 2 week time period as they will have obtained all the low-value prizes.
In the meantime as I mentioned, I am only wasting my TV watching time right now. So disappointing but not a crisis if they don't complete the new redemptions. I'll go back to more serious 'sweeping' and get my win count up. (2 Florida trips this year LOL and a bike GPS that I sold for $475) It was just nice to have something guaranteed that was also TAX-FREE.
And as a further note - Midwest (which had been running 1 extra week) - I had 2 redemptions that posted right at the 3 week spot - now the 3rd one is not posted. Hopefully midinight tonight.
And on the MSN Frequent Shopper Program - Can someone give me a bit more detail on it - how easy to accumulate the points, etc? I would switch to that if you really felt it was a better program. Things I could give as gifts such as the running socks (2 marathon runners in family etc).

I have seen several posts about missing miles which posted later, so I hope for them (I'm not missing one mile from before the hickup) this will be solved.

You can get 1000 tickets per day (or 1019 or 1024; when you start a game at 999 tickets, you earn the next one completely). But say, 1000/day, i.e. 7000/week. 4300 tickets=2500 miles so 7000 tickets is over 4000 miles per week.
When you can type fastly, you can do 1000 tickets within the hour.
And you can have more then one account (for example, use one account for each carrier you want to get miles for). Maybe it is possible to have more accounts to redeem to one carrier, but this is maybe asking for problems. I've not read anybody who did this.
