The delays for non-hardware can be long too...We redeemed for a magazines dot com gift card back in May (when they were still available), and as of yet, no dice.
8 days from the redemption date for the Kitchen Aid mixer to show up at the door, all shipping paid by Microsoft. Ordered just before the points needed jumped from 31000 to 34000.
Has anyone on here ever pursed a non milage reward at LSC? With Christmas gifts in mind, I'm thinking of holding off on miles and saving up for either the Kitchen Aid mixer (34k) or an X Box 360 (55k) and of course several recipe books. The LSC FAQs state that MS pays for shipping, but I was wondering about how long it takes. Cheers.
I've thought about the mixer, but I've found my time is better spent with mileage since I'm using my miles for overseas tickets. Over on SD, they only talk about earning non-mileage awards. I brought up earning for FF miles and I was bombarded with "Are you insane?" private messages.
To each their own but I guess the monetary amount per ticket is pretty much the same no matter what you get. Although 55k tickets for an XBOX seems high to me.

If you were going to exchange points for miles, which airline would you use?? Which one do you think is best for the point value, ability to book rewards (especially internationally), etc.??? I am between MEM and BHM so it doesn't matter to me. Exclude my location, just weigh in on which one you think is the best value please.

Looks like the day now starts over at 3 a.m. ET, 2 a.m. CT.
Is this still the case? I can convert it to Aussie time.
I read about 20 pages and I think the best strategy is to stick with one game until you max it out? I am currently on Matt Lauer and it keeps throwing Captcha windows up at me, does this mean I am going too fast and they think I am a bot? Geography is my strong suit, I don't need to search for many of the answers.
I tried Flexicon, the short words seem to be straight forward but is the long word meant to be like a cryptic crossword? I was never good at those so I might have to skip that one. I can get a clue for the short words but haven't figured out how to get a clue on the long word.

Just on face-value, given your post, I'd say DL, so you can redeem for direct MEM flights on NW.
In general, across all promotions/etc, my choices are AA (count towards lifetime MM), then HA (combinable, if you have an HA-branded credit/debit card), then AS (lots of redemption partners). Then it depends on my mood that day.

The long word--the "Flexicon", as they call it--is nothing more than a word or short phrase that is almost always some kind of play on words. Although it is very helpful to solve it early in a game, it's not really necessary to actually solve it at all, as every letter in the Flexicon is part of another word in the puzzle. If you fill in the answers to every question, both across and down, the Flexicon answer will be solved as well, with no additional effort on your part.
Bottom line: IMHO, the best strategy is to find the game(s) you are good at, pick the one(s) that gives you the most points for the least amount of time you need to solve each game, and then max out those games. If you like doing word puzzles, Flexicon is a good choice. It offers clues to many of the words, it has the highest point total per game, and the max out limit is fairly high. If you're in Australia, you may find that some of the clues and answers require a bit of knowledge about the US that may or may not make the puzzle a little more difficult.

Sorry if I am being dense ( end of a very long week and brain not work good now) but what is SD?
LOL, I have been doing LSC for 2 days now and already maxxed out Matt Lauer!
I moved on to Chicktionary with the anagram solver in another window.
The Flexicon I tried had 3 short words across, a long Flexicon that tied into 4 short words down. The Flexicon has about 5 or 6 letters still left after I filled in the short words. Because it is a "play on words", I am not good at those and I can't search on it like if it was a straight forward clue "8 letters-the capital of Hungary" sort of thing. Budapest. Now if they made the clue into a play on words "8 letters-annoying flower" = bud a pest I wouldn't get it!
I still can't believe I can get all these miles for playing word games, I mean what is in it for the LSC? Are there hidden charges or something?
If I did the math right, I can get 25,000 AA miles for 43,000 LSC which is minimum 43 days playing-let's say 6 weeks. There has to be a catch somewhere!
Is there any limit on how many miles you can transfer?

No catch, no cost, and it works very well.
LSC is essentially paying you for hits to their search engine. Every time you enter a work or answer of any sort it "searches" their site.
For Flexicon, just fill in all the regular answers and the Flexicon will fill in itself.

I have a feeling he is not realizing there are other parts of the puzzle. Tiki, Flexicon is actually four small crosswords. You need to click one of the shadowed boxes to right of the first puzzle to select them.
