So here's my dilemma...I currently have ~10500 MCR points. I was holding out for one of the big trips for 26000 points, however, I think this upcoming devaluation may vault them too high for me to reach. I enter 100 points a day and at that rate would reach 26K around September...does anyone have any inside information as to what the devaluation will look like in April? I was thinking about cashing in 2855 points for the Hilton Honors 40K points...any thoughts/insights/advice would be appreciated.
100 points a day? hmmm...either you own a bussiness that uses coke or, well man you gotta slow down

I joined MCR for the HH points and have done pretty well out of it. So far have got:
3 x 500 HH points reward
2 x 5000 HH points after two stays
1 x 40,000 HH points after three stays
In early December when it wasn't sure if MCR was going to carry on for another year I bought 1000 bottlecaps (3000 MCR points worth) off ebay for about $50. I'm using it for a stay at the Drake in Chicago.
Since I'm now sitting on about 600 MCR points and am currently out of options I'm interested in. I'm hoping the new refresh brings new Hilton rewards I can take advantage of.
My tip:
Since the MyCokeRewards website is really flaky try using the widget they have. It works with Yahoo Widgets and it very easy. I'm on a Mac and find the MCR website is lousy and takes ages to enter codes as it remembers EVERY code I've ever entered. Not the same deal with the widget. Takes about 1/10th of the time.

So can you do the 5K Hilton and 40K Hilton in the same year as they are different awards? I am trying to get codes in 100 points per day, but will finish only 2 days before my Hilton Res. I take it that that is not enough time to process the award?

Yes, I even managed to earn the 5K and 40K reward on the same stays as I redeemed for the 5K and 40K rewards in very quick succession.
I found out today that you can redeem the 5K Hilton reward twice in the same calendar year. Didn't realise that so I've now done 3x5K, 1x40K and 3x500 HH point rewards
I don't see any problems with redeeming 2 days before the Hilton stay. You can just email the MCR/HH people who seem to be on top of things.

...you can redeem a 40K award AND a 5K award and then stay 3 times and get 45K points? I ask, b/c I just redeemed for 40K and would like to redeem for the 5K award but was waiting until the 40K posted...if that is not the case, I'm going to double dip...so, can you please clarify?

This was, of course, an error on HHonors' part. It should take 5 stays.
I guess this makes up for all the cases in which people do the required stays and the points don't post as they should.
Bottom line: do not count on Fraser's experience happening regularly.

Illegible Code how-to
EDIT: as others have posted below, this procedure is not new, so I edited it into a simple how-to rather than a report of a new procedure -- it was new to me because in the past they have just posted the points to my account no questions asked. The others' posts also confirm that this procedure is valid.
Instead of just taking your word for it and posting MCR points when told about illegible codes, MCR has questions.
They want to know:
Product purchased-
Packaging (20 oz, 12-pack cans, Fridgepack, etc)-
City and State of purchase (so we can identify the printer and bottler)-
The code as it appears to you-
Purchase Location-
"I don't remember" seems to be acceptable for the first and last questions.
"A rest stop on I-## in [state]" is OK for city and state.
Don't agonize over the unreadable characters when trying to provide "the code as it appears to you." Just substitute something like "unreadable" for the characters you cannot read.
Location: ORF & AUS; I have an ex-wife and and an ex-house in both cities.

Curious if this is happening to anyone else. I have had this happen 2 or 3 times this week. I got a drink that had a MCR code on the cap. Brand new, not some cap I found. I send it in via SMS from my phone. I get a message back telling me sorry, but that code has already been used. My question is: could they be to the point where their random character generator is duplicating codes? I found the whole thing odd.

Short answer is no. If codes are being repeated, the Coke random number generator is broken. 15 alphanumberic characters--that's a lot of possibilities, something like 36 to the 15th power. (Maybe fewer if they are not using both zeros and Os.) That's why there is no problem with offering more products with fewer characters (12) for the new promotion.
