I also think that many of us will need to consider using up all of our old points by April 15th as well... as I am afraid they will have different point values and I will have wished I had used my points before the new changes...
Hmmm, a quandary. Do we use up all our MCR points now for something we don't really want or need or do we wait until there are new additions to the program next month? Additions that will no doubt devalue the points that we have weighed against the possibility of new, desirable rewards. What to do????

What about the other side of that coin?
Is it possible the points will be worth more????
I know the possibility is so slim it is not even funny, but you never know for sure....

Well considering how crappy the current awards are, whats the point in redeeming anyway. Probably better to see what avail in the next round of rewards, imo.

I would love to use up my points, but there is nothing I want. So, I'm hoping that April will bring something of value, even if the reward prices are inflated.
I received an e-mail from MyPoints.com today sending me a link that if I signed up for CokeRewards that I would receive 100 free points... I signed up for a workmate, but she never received the points... and there was no "promo" code to enter... at least nothing that was e-mailed yet...
EDIT... Note that the e-mail says later that the 100 points are for MYPOINTS, and not MCR points.
I didn't get the email, but I found the link on mypoints website - it showed up in that annoying sliding-down box. So I went through it and registered and the 100 mypoints were credited instantly! Thx for the heads up!
I feel that there will definitely be a devaluation and we can see it in some awards now. For example, the free 20oz bottle of Coke (or Coke Zero) used to be 11 points. It is now 24 points. But Vault, and Dasani are now there and they are 24 as well. So I sort of expect FF miles will be something like 250 to 500 CokeRewards for 500 FF miles. Now if they would only make FC Upgrades available on Coke Rewards.

While I also feel that the points will be devalued, I don't ever remember seeing a free 20oz bottle of Coke or Coke Zero for 11 points... they have a Buy 1 get 1 Free Coupon that is now at 15 points, but I always remember the Free Coupon (without having to purchase one) was more points.

nope, I'm sure there was a free Coke ZERO for 11pts redemption a while back. stuff is only going to get more expensive, it makes logical sense for them.

The response I received from MCR indicates the "old" codes will still be good. Here's the question I emailed to MCR and their reply:
Question: "When Phase 1 of the program ends on April 16, 2007, I understand that our existing points will carryover into Phase 2. However, if we have any 15 digit codes from red caps or cartons that have not yet been entered, can those still be entered after April 16, or will they no longer be accepted?"
Answer: "Thank you for contacting MyCokeRewards.com. We appreciate you taking the time to contact us regarding this issue.
The codes you have not yet entered will still be valid for the promotion.
If you have any other questions, feel free to contact us again."
I would feel a lot more comfortable about this reply if I knew that someone else on FT had received the same information. Anyone?
I'm having a hard time with this. I drink coke and have dozens of empties sitting about. The problem is that the MCR program seems to be basically crap. My observations are:
1. the prizes are worthless
2. the website frequently rejects the codes
Am I missing something? Is there a way to turn MCR points into airline miles without BUYING something?
I suspect that the coke rewards is a bigger waste of time than the erewards crap. The prizes offered seem to have little or no value and the effort to actually enter the points is a total pain. The web site frequently freaks out and logs you out, rejects certain codes and says they have already been used, and then gets upset if you try to enter more than 10 codes in a day. Even if they come up with an award where 1 pt = 1 mile, I think it probably isn't worth it given the amount of time it takes to enter the stuff... I guess I'll wait until after the new program comes into effect and see if there are any good rewards and if not, ditch the thing...
