Well, a naturaly question first is, do you think you violated any of the Terms of Service?

Weird! Do you know what it is you "did"/what they think you did?

LiveFromNY Aug 18, 2006 8:14 pm

They can be real sticklers!

No, they are more like pricks ... they can never give you a reason for freezing an account.

My account was "frozen" for a little while about a year ago - their reason was that I had two accounts with the same e-mail address (became this way because they bought out some other program 5-6 years ago - clickrewards perhaps?) - at that time I had asked them on several occasions to combine the accounts but they kept saying they couldn't do it. In the end they did the right thing by crediting one account with all the points that was in the other account but it was a hassle :(

Account frozen: do they ever reactivate it?

Does anyone whose account was frozen by Mypoints ever succeded in having said account reactivated? Both my account and my husband's have been frozen. Mypoints sent an email requesting the copy of an ID (with everything blanked out except for name, photo and DOB). It makes me feel extremely uncomfortable to give these jokers so much info, especially considering how cavalier they are with personal info. I use a special account just for Mypoints, and over the last four months, it's been abundantly targeted by spammers. Either Mypoints sold this address, or one of their vendors did.

Anyway, what's the consesus, if any, over this matter? Should I even bother trying to get the account reopened, or shall I abandon it? (I never use it for purchases anymore, since the crediting of points is so difficult.)

What did you do?

Here's a phone number I had on file from a few years ago. No idea if it's still good.

888 262 4528

Good luck!

I got frozen a couple of years back after earning a ton of points on an old Tupperware deal. I had to send them a copy of my driver's license to prove I was a real person. Whos know what they do now?

JudyJFLA Jan 23, 2007 12:41 pm

They froze Moms account a few years back and refused to budge even after we faxed in copies of her Drivers License and Passport, due to her address not matching on a redemption. They have never heard of people being seasonal. Even after I sent in a message that I would bring her in in person to their office in AF on our next trip to prove she was not a figment of the imagination, they still said she was not real and therefore closed her account and her 8000+ points (remember the overstock.com promos).

Later she opened a new account and has not had problems, although points are redeemed as soon as earned and the pending points lag times are a pain.

And that was a few years back?! Mypoints has been going steadily downhill, especially in the last year or so, so I probably shouldn't even consider sending them copies of our documents... They haven't explained why they froze our accounts, and they haven't replied to my husband's inquiries either...
