Ritz Carlton reserve 4th night get 30,000 bonus points (targeted)

A few days ago I received an offer from Ritz Carlton by mail. The offer is stay between July 15 and October 15, 2012 for 4 nights and receive 30,000 points to use on a future stay. Must register, and the T&C state reward nights do not qualify, Ritz-Carlton Millennia, Singapore, Ritz-Carlton Montreal, Phulay Bay, Ritz Carlton Reserve, Destination Clubs, Residences an Partner hotels do not qualify. Members of Ritz-Carlton Rewards program as of June 14, 2012, and new members who were not previously members of Marriott Rewards program are eligible to receive this offer. A max of 30k bonus points can be earned per member. Offer is not transferable, subject to availability........

I am tempted to take this offer..just need to find a Ritz-Carlton with decent rates. Add a Chase Ritz card as well for 70k and I may be able to justify adding this to my portfolio.

Is this targeted? Got it and thought it was not such a great promotion.

Is there a link or was an only via email? Did not get the offer. Several Ritz Carltons in the DC area are having great deals over the summer for rooms under $200 a night, even under $150.

They sent it via both email and snail mail. Have to register for it after logging into your rewards account.

This offer is NOT targeted as it is open for all Ritz-Carlton Rewards members.

The promotion is called Extraordinary Returns.

I tried to register, this is what I got: "You are not eligible for this promotion. If you’ve received this message in error or have any questions, please contact

Did you switch your account first to Ritz-Carlton Rewards?

I did but still showing as MR. Can I switch it to RC Rewards just to get the promotion and switch it back or do they require you to stay with RC rewards for a period of time after switching?

Experienced Ritz Carltons, I need your advice. I need to stay 3-4 nights in Washington, DC, and have Gold status (newbie with Ritz Carlton Rewards Credit Card-that is also for consideration) I see a couple of promos now. First one is stay 4 nights and get 30K bonus points. The second one is $50-$100 off two/three night stay. Also, I am planning on using one of allowable upgrades to Club Level that comes with card`s benefits (third promo?)
My questions are:
1. What is the best value among those?
2. Will I get $100 off two night stay with RC card anyways?
3. Which RC is the best out of four there? The second best?
4. Any other recommendations to maximize the value?
Thank you!

1) The general consensus is that the longer you stay the more valuable the upgrade cert becomes. I generally won't use them unless I can use it on the lowest published internet rate.

2) As long as you stay 2 nights you will get the credit so long as you pay with your RC visa

3) 1 - Gtown, 2- 22nd street, 3- pentagon city (only because it is closer to town), 4- Tysons

After registering, do you need to input some promo code when making the 4 night reservation or will the computer automatically recognize that you registered?
