Definitely Gib. Check out all the 4 synagogues there--they are marvelous. There are basic kosher amenities, including a kosher baker and restaurant/canteen. If I recall, Room 613 at Elliott Hotel has a non-electric key for shomer shabbat guests.
Though I think Malaga should have minyan as many people are there on hol right now.

And, if you can, might I suggest that you could climb The Rock after shabbos lunch. I think that the Eruv still covers the whole of Gib (or at least where you'll be walking). It's a steep 45 minute climb, but rewarded with amaxzing views across to the High Atlas Mountains in Morocco. And if you're in the Eruv you can take water and a picnic for Seudas Shelishis as well. Ask the Rav for more info.
PM me if you need contact info, and it's also just possible that Elihassett may be able to give it to you as well ;-)

We stayed at the Elliot, which is 1-2 mins walk from the main shul. It has a rather nice rooftop pool. The Rock is 5-10 mins walk away, and might be less convenient with a buggy / stroller - but it's a better hotel.

I'll be in Torremolinos for the week and driving down to GIB for a long weekend and shabbat. I have researched most of the kosher places in both areas but wanted to know whether it is better to buy the kosher food for shabbat in Torremolinos and drive it down to GIB or can everything be bought in GIB on Thurs afternoon or Friday morning?
Also, is it better to park outside and walk in or better to drive into GIB? I'll be staying at the Eurotower.
Last question is which of the 5 shuls is recommended at GIB? I am interested in kipa sruga kind, fast davening, not cantorial.
Thanks!

Sorry for late reply just saw your post now.
1.Everything can be bought in Gib on Thursday or Friday,
2. It is better to drive into GIB ,Eurotowers is approximately a 25 minute walk from the border.
3.As to the fastest davening I would reccomend you go to the Abudarham Shul it is the fastest though i don't know if i would call it "kipa sruga" type.
PM me for more details

Hey guys,
What is the best way to get from Madrid to GIB? I want to spend shabbos in GIB. I looked at the train and there are no night trains. The latest train from Madrid to Algeciras in October is 15:35 - really? I could try to go from Madrid to GIB on Friday morning, but I am not a huge fan - of being stuck for Shabbos at the whim of the freaking train workers, who think striking is like going to McDonalds!
So, the choices I see are:
1) rent a car and then drive down when I want to
2) Take a flight from MAD to Malaga and then taxi in
Any other ideas? TIA!

You're best bet is taking a train from Madrid to Malaga and then cabbing it for approx 100 Euros or renting a car in malaga. The trains are very frequent and comfortable.
