It was really weird on AZ that our meal ex-TLV was from Amsterdam, flown into TLV via FCO, with Israeli yogurt. That means the yogurt shipped TLV-AMS-FCO-TLV just to be served on TLV-FCO.

ZRH-EWR on UA in Biz
Skipped the free breakfast at my hotel since I had a 10am flight and knew my meal would be served soon after. What a mistake turns out UA is using Stogel out of ZRH (they probably under bidded the local company by 10 cents) anyway although in Biz it was a Y meal and had an exp date of 1/31/16 that was enough for me.I did open the entree and got 1 smell of the contents and simply handed the whole tray right back to the FA
Didnt eat anything the whole flight, a real pity since I hold the Zurich kosher caterer to be the 2nd best meal in the air after Hermolis of cause. Next time it will be LX
So much for all the spin by UA of improving its meals, or could be they are at the expense of the KSML ones

UA says they dont offer KSML SGN-HKG (yet CX (DragonAir) had Hermolis from REP-HKG),I didnt mind it till my HKG-SFO flight didnt have any KSML for me either, yrs past that would have gotten me a $350 eCert this yr it was worth $100 or 7500 miles. So that was SGN-HKG-SFO w/o any meal and the GA wouldnt let me take my carry-on aboard even thou I was in BF SFO-JFK so I simply told him to unload me and took the next flight out = no meal as it was on the booked flight, no problems taking the exact same carry-on onto that flight.
But Im now done with UA at least rev tkt wise unless they are at a min $50 cheaper on a Dom or $150 cheaper Intl , which probably means UA wont be getting another dime out of me.But with LT *G status on UA it will make using up the 2M+ of miles w/o having to pay for bags etc etc. Problem is AA serves a Y meal in Biz on their JFK-LAX/SFO flights at least KA had a better presentation and quantity, but not quality. Its now AA where I also have LT Plat
As for Stogels thats the 1st time ever I got it on COUA,PMUA or PMCO. Personally when flying out of Yeruppetsville where theres no Jewish community to speak of nor much demand for KSML and no local vendor,I can understand Stogel being the way to go. I remember my LatinPass run of 2000 was to have finally been served a Stogel it was usully no special meals at all.

Flew last month JFK-LAX on AA and earned 11k+ RDMs , it would have been apx 2700 miles on UA AA is way better if stuck in Y seats are way better padded and I still get E+ for $0.Only thing is AA doesnt fly Intl as much as UA does and its main partner BA causes the taxes to be alot more having to go via the UK. But is adream for Asia with CX!
Even UA now doesnt open up TLV on its metal till the last sec, cant wait for that least it not open, and prefer JFK over EWR where parking for me is $0 or $5 for as long as I park per trip. Problem is only LX has a wide-body into TLV so I dont want to blow 160k when at least 1/3 of the time I will be sitting in a Y seat even thou its called Biz. The worst park is no E+ seats and even if they had them theyd probably charge UAers $$ for them just as OS wanted to charge me for the Exit Row seating. The good thing is having high enough status now till 2/1/17 I can change my flights at the last min for $0 so if LX opens up I can simply jump ship and fly in a real Biz seat

Well flying over 200k a yr on UA does increase the % against me and most of that was on PMUA planes where KA was the vendor.Flew 80K in Jan/Feb alone and got KA only once. JFK-LAX/SFO is still PMUA I believe its no longer KA although I fly that routing over a dz times a yr I end up mostly SDCing it to a flight where my RPU would clear but since thats T-23+no KSML for me

I wouldnt expect anything but Stogel (if even that) out of the sorts of a place as CGK. No local Jewish community so basically its a few people flying every so often. Muslims Im sure can get all the halal they want so need for them to order KSML
If I was in CGK all week w/o any hot food I might be very happy to be served Stogel, but not out of the likes of ZRH which has a very good local KSML vendor. FWIW I doubt I would have eaten the Stogel meal served to me out of ZRH, it smelled that bad, chicken meatballs

When I was in Turkey which has a Jewish community, I definitely received a Stogel meal on UA in Business First (when they still had the EWR- IST flight).

I received something local on SQ (almost positive it was local, but was definitely not Stogel - I'm actually, without trying to jinx it, doing pretty well, having never gotten Stogel!)

Never got any local KSML on UA from SIN, dont even know if it exists. Got KA in '14 and I believe it was KA this past Feb, while it was Regal out of NRT. At least with KA its a cheese omlett but not C"Y which works for me

Interesting article (in Hebrew though) about Stogel ... this board is clearly not the only place people complain about it:
