Who here likes Lufthansa Kosher Meals in Y
Although I am not religious I like ordering the KSML's because its usually better than the regular meal.
On my last SFO-FRA LH Flight and FRA-SFO flight I had great meals. From SFO-FRA I was given a delicious chicken meal with a good salad with smoked salmon and for dessert this delicious strawberry shortcake.
For breakfast I got a hot Egg with Cheese Bagel with a fruit cup and chocolate Rugaleh for Dessert. I am not sure who caters out of SFO but it sure was good.
On the return Sohar's Catering/ Restaurant from FRA made a good meal. The first meal was Salmon with Pasta, Salad and a delicious dessert. The salmon was moist and tasted really delicious. The second hot meal was Beef with Potatoes and Salad and another delicious dessert.
There weer passengers who looked in envy at my meal and I told them how good it was.
I was wondering if any of you here like the LH Catering out of FRA? I am taking LH from FCO-FRA-SEA and hope to get more good KSML's along with the good beer and sparkling wine and other spirits LH serves.
LH seems to spend more on their KSML's as they get it from a catering/restaurant out of Frankfurt which is freshly made.

Another quick data point
TLV-LHR in Y - excellent meal from Hamasbia (surprising!). pasta/sweet potato appitiser, chicken/rice main, apple pie dessert. But it was all very fresh. If fact, it is FAR better than the KSML in business class from TLV-LHR, which is appalling.
LHR-TLV in Y - very good meal from Hermolis (standard cottage pie).
But the highlight was in LHR T1 BA lounge. Was in there twice this week, and was given the following kosher options (whichever I wanted, all available on demand);
Mushroom soup (excellent)
Pastrami bagel
Ommelette/potato/baked beans
Chinese chicken + rice
Spaghetti and meatballs
All the dishes I had were heated up correctly and were delicious. Very pleasatnly surprised, it didn't always work as well at T3 or T5. Main dishes (last three) are served on large china dinner plates.

How are the those Sohar meals on LH F, FRA-NRT?, do the Sohar meals in F come in LH F dishes?.

The actual choices vary between even and odd months (I prefer even..) but concept is similar.

All on china F dishes, quality is good (though sometimes a bit too 'busy' for me on the plane). You can also request kosher meals in FRA before flight (in first class terminal or A/B lounges). These are also F class meals. You can see some examples here

The only LH F I have done from USA was from JFK, catering was from Regal and it was horrible, still frozen. Y kosher food looked much better (and fresh).

Update:
I took the flight.
They served food from a supplier I have never seen before; Inflight Delite (Kosher Kitchen). The website for this supplier is www.inflightdelite.com, but it isn't much of a website.
The food was mediocre despite having declaring itself first class meals.
The packages had an OU on them. The Parve entree from Breakfast gave an address of East Greenville, PA and the Meat entree from supper gave an address of Allentown, PA.
"Breakfast" was:
A roll (presumably Hamotzie, but there was no clarification anywhere)
Salmon
Philadelphia Cream Cheese (obviously not cholov yisroel)
Danish
Omlet/Hash Browns. They forgot to serve this to me and served it with Supper. It was not hot enough and poor tasting (perhaps due to being not hot enough).
Supper was:
Roll (as above)
Black and White cookie
Apricot flaky dough pastry
Tahina and what looked like babaganoush
Applesauce
"Tuscan chicken with pasta and vegetables" (didn't look too bad, but wasn't very hot)

Inflight Delite - I don't think so....
Actually would have been OK in coach, but the meals for LAX-LHR in AA business class were disgraceful:
Breakfast was:
Has anyone heard of these guys? Seem to be based near LAX but their web site doesn't have much content, or contact details.
Posted some pix - but haven't figured out how to embed them in this posting....
- Starter - small pots of Humus and Matbucha
- Challah roll
- Apple sauce
- Chocolate cake slice
- Entrée - Peas / Pasta twirls - and a bit of chicken (pretty tasteless)
Breakfast was:
- Bagel with smoked Nova Lox and Philly cream cheese (in sachet)
- Orange juice
- Omelette with roasted potatoes (looked horrible - didn't eat it)

just finished a JFK-LAX-SFO-HKG-SIN-NRT-LAX-JFK
Only my LAX-SFO didnt serve a meal, a couple of the flights were CO metal but it didnt matter as All the meals were my Favorite (not) KoshAir. 3 were milchig which meant those who only eat HaLav Yisroel wouldnt have had anything to eat. Yep once again I got my cheese ravioli everyone else got some fleshig. But KAs ravioli is better then their fleshig junk. Too bad it wasnt a Hemolis fish meal instead, while SIN-NRT & NRT-LAX were both a cheese/egg omlette if you can call it that. But at least unlike my HNL trip early Jan they had my meals and I was able to eat something
