10% off weekend rates in Europe, Middle East and Africa. It's not much, but every little bit helps, so they say.

Thankyou for your email. Gold points do not expire, only tier level (e.g silver, gold ect) and the nights/stays are calculated per calender year to determine your tier level.

Hope this helps.
Helps a ton, thanks a ton too

congrats and welcome as the mod

eleven weeks on from 'upgrading' and still no recognition beyond the page on the website despite chasing them up.

IHCG managed my upgrade pack within 4 weeks.

Special?

Lightbulb Status reset 1st of March 2009

On 1st of March 2009 the system has auto reset the status.

The system does NOT look at status match, promotions or any other manual status upgrades. All it counts are the stays required for status.

1. If you were matched or promoted to GoldElite you are now SilverElite.
2. If you were matched or promoted to SilverElite you are now NOElite.
3. If you were matched or promoted to NOElite you still are NOElite.

So, basically anyone affected will have to call and have them correct it manually.

I was promoted to silver at the start of December and I'm still there so I guess it isn't an automatic downgrade. I'm also still not putting any stays their way until they bother themselves to send me my new membership pack.

Still Gold Elite, not sure if I will be able to keep it this year, it would be nice if they let you have a slightly lower threshold to re-qualify.

I have been told that if you qualify for Elite status, you get the benefit for the remainder of the current year and the entire next year (until February). .So if you .qualified in December of 2008, then you would be elite (and should have received an elite card in December, January at the latest) for all of 2008 and 2009. .You not recieve another card until next February..
That’s new for the European group as elite status used to be based on when they joined and now it matches what the airline programs do.

Yes, account has dropped to Silver.

Can't complain I really enjoyed the benefits while they lasted the extended weekend offer especially.Which IMO is the main benefit of being Gold.

Don't live in Europe now so won't be missing it much.

Have any of you already become Gold via the promo after 5 stays? Does it go automatically or do you have to contact GPP first?

p.s.
I have not received my Silver card yet...

I was downgraded to silver... Honnestly, I don't really care, as the advantage of gold were minor for me, except the daily free item for the laundry I enjoyed in Europe.
Regarding the points bonus as Gold, I don't care either, as I really found ratio of points accumulation/award to be very rude. I managed to spend 9 days award in Stockolm, Sweden, and it was with a special promotion. I can tell you, however, I spend lot of nights at radisson properties.

I prefer to concentrate on HHonors and SPG.
