Qatar business seats? - 787-8, A320, A330-200
Hello all, new in this section of the forum.
Never flown Qatar, but may do so this summer. Trying to assemble the best possible planes for business seat layout. Possible planes on routes I'm researching are:
- 787-8
- A320
- A330-200
Presume they're all lie-flat and of ample comfort? I'm happy to fly from a different airport for the best comfort is all.
Thanks.

There is a wealth of information on the forum on these topics. If you access the forum dashboard, there are Q&A threads for each aircraft type and seat information.
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/qatar...dashboard.html
In short though the 787 has the latest reverse herringbone product and 1-2-1 seating. Depending on whether you are travelling alone the other aircraft with their 2-2 (A320) or 2-2-2 (A330) layout may not be to your liking. I believe they both have lie-flat seating now though.
The Qatar Source is also a good site for specific seatmaps and info http://theqatarsource.com/

mmxbreaks welcome to the QR forum.
The Qr fleet is rather diversified rnaging from an all Y A321 to the A380. you can get a great deal of information fron the Wiki on http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/qatar...l#post27886959.
There is a widget on the extremely helpful and innovative dashboard to this thread. Also on the dashboard you will find widgets for each aircraft type. However you should be aware that th older A320, A321, A330 and A340 are not yet activated. You should also be aware that a new Business class seat will be launched next month and will start appearing on a few aircraft in the second half of this year. See http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/qatar...-777-a350.html for more details.
The A320s are a mixed bunch as you will find out. Only nine aircraft have lie flat seats all the other A320s have sloped (also called cradle) seats.
The A321 has two different seat maps and seating. One is all Y!
The A330 consists of two models A330-200 and A330-300 and the available seat maps are not completely correct.
The A340 appears to have incorrect seat maps.
You can use http://www.theqatarsource.com/qatara...tetracker.html to see which aircraft have previously flown a route and http://www.qrcargo.com/checkrouting to see what is scheduled to fly a route.
Finally there are a number of aircraft swaps planned. See http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/qatar...es-2017-a.html for more information.

Hi all
Apologies if this is covered in the dashboard but I can't seem to open the links on my phone.
I'm travelling BRU-DOH with my four year old and we are currently in 2E/F. She is quite self sufficient but obviously likes to check in every now and again. I thought I had read somewhere that taking 2A/E would be a better option for a couple but can't seem to find it. Anyone have opinions on this?
We also have a 70 min connection in Doh so I would like to get off pdq if at all poss. Again I thought I had read somewhere that door one is not used, so would it be better to sit a few rows further back?

A and E allows you to easily stand up and walk over if needed. E and F means you.can reach over but would have to walk around the cabin if you needed to actually attend to them.
And in my experience it never takes more than a minute or two on anything smaller than an A380 for the business cabin to "deplane" once the door opens, economy passengers are always held back, so I wouldn't be worried where I sat from that point of view.

diego454 there are two different seat types on the 332.
The B/E Diamond found on A7-ACG,I,J,K,L,M and
The B/E MiniPod found on A7-ACA,B,C,D,E,F,H. This is the same seat type as the B777s.
If you look at the Wiki on http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/qatar...l#post27996054 there is more information as to which seat is which.
Look at http://www.theqatarsource.com/qatara...tetracker.html to see what aircraft types are flying the route at the moment.
Using http://www.qrcargo.com/checkrouting you can see which aircraft types are expected to be flying the route in the future.
Both of these show B777s and B787s only.

I don't know what the fuss is about - I've flown the 777 twice now and found the red J seats to be perfectly acceptable ...
