irishguy28 to you, and me, it is plain commonsense to book flights that are most convenient time wise. However this year there have been an incredible number of posts complaining that they booked flights with aircraft type xx but they are now flying type yy. Many of them expecting compensation! It is those who show no commonsense that msm2000uk is trying to guard against and warn. It is well known that QR, through no fault of their own, have had an acute shortage of widebodied jets. The situation is beginning to ease with new deliveries but it will still be several months before things are back to normal.
I think a warm vote of thanks to the scheduling staff is in order for the manner in which they have handled the many problems without too much disruption to services.

A350 from LHR from 30 Oct 16 on QR15/16
Announced this morning - I've spent 5 minutes searching this forum as I presume it would be here, but I can't find. Anyway - THIS IS VERY EXCITING FOR ME! My favourite Y airplane seat coming to LHR, replacing my least favourite - the 788!
Qatar Airways is proud to announce the introduction of the world's newest aircraft on our London Heathrow to Doha route.
From 30 October 2016, the A350 will operate the QR15 and QR16 night flights.
Key features of the A350-900 XWB:
• 247 Economy Class seats in a 3-3-3 configuration
• 36 fully flat Business Class seats, all with direct aisle access
• More light thanks to wider panoramic windows and a large illuminated dome in the entrance ceiling
• Reduced jetlag and greater comfort thanks to LED mood lighting and advanced temperature control.

Why do you prefer Y seat on B787 and A350 ? IMHO 9 abreast in a plane designed for 8 abreast makes B787 Y seat very narrow, and 3-3-3 seating is not convenient when traveling alone or as a couple.

And until airlines start trying to squeeze an extra seat on an A350 it will remain my goto plane - I will actively pay 10-20% more on a long haul. I have only flown it once on SIN-DOH but I think i've flown all of QR's Y class aircraft now and there is massive differences in comfort on different planes.

Where the a380 from BKK route go ?
So a380 is no more to BKK. Very annoying for me personally, as I'm flying on this route in few days. But hey, happens
Question is - where did those a380 from 3x daily BKK gone ? SYD and CAN were supposed to be served by newly received a380, so any new routes ?
Regards,
El Puerco Volante

I also checked few dates next year and all are 777s only for now.
Would I have known - I would have taken EK. Too late to change now.

El Puerco Volante four of the existing A380s have to undergo lengthy maintenance checks this autumn. Add to this the two new routes (CAN and SYD) with NO new aircraft. This has resulted in the temporary withdrawal of the A380 from BKK as well as reductions to CDG snd LHR to serve CAN and SYD.
New A380 deliveries are expected in December 2016 and January 2017. The December delivery is actually expected to be in November. As these deliveries are made and the four aircraft return from maintenance the situation will ease and it is expected that there will be enough slack in the timetable so as to avoid further A380 swaps to other aircraft types.
Come February there should be a stable A380 timetable again.
