Just a question regarding the status upgrade. It says in the FAQ:
Now, my current Gold status expires on 24 May 2017. Given that the promo runs until 10 March 2017, I am wondering what people's experience was last year:
1. Does the upgrade happen as soon as the qualifying flight in the final badge posts to the account (i.e. anytime between 1 Jan and 10 Mar), or does it take place only at the end of the promo period?
2. Just to double check, if I am upgraded to Plat within my current membership year, the upgraded status should last for the following membership year as well, right? (i.e. thru 24 May 2018)

If you gain a status upgrade by collecting all four badges, this will be applied at some point after the last badge period ends. So probably around the end of March or early April. Your upgraded status then runs for a calendar year from the date of upgrade, just as if you had achieved it with qpoints.
If your year end changes as a result, you may also find that any qcredits you may have remaining from the current year should still keep their existing expiry date rather than be deleted and replaced with the new ones. So during the overlap period you should (could) have 60 new ones plus whatever was left over.
The difference for platinums this year is because they only gave an extension for requalifying last year, the length of which varied depending on your existing renewal date. You also only got qcredits pro rata to the length of the extension (I got nine months and 45 credits). So that made requalifying less of a benefit for existing platinums than the upgrade was for other levels. They have corrected that this time with a full year extension from your current renewal date, or extra miles if you'd prefer those instead.

stargold I can not answer your first question, Only those who completed all 4 badges last year can.
To your second question regarding Platinum status :- A new membership year begins the date you achieve Platinum status.That moveable membership year is rather confusing but is an interesting advantage over many other FFPs where a fixed year is used.
Rewards are usually awarded and points credited about 15 days after the end of the promotion. The 15 days is to allow time for your account to be updated with any activity with partner airlines.

I received the upgrade to Platinum on 14th January 2016, and last year the final theme ended on 31st December 2015.
