Hello.........Anyone else here?
currently in the lounge and it's like a ghost town!
i have never seen it so quiet before as I normally transit early morning or in the middle of the night.
BTW, I did see something interesting at the Business Centre......a whole group of what I imagine to be Qataris in all white dishdasha's having some sort of board meeting. They were escorted by dark blue uniform wearing Police guys, and quite a few of them.
Any ideas what that was all about?

Ok, so here's another FT hack.......why pay for a spa treatment in the Al Safwa when one can simply spend 45 minutes in a shower cubicle for free of charge! De facto steam room!

OK, I'm missing something here. Isn't HIA for Hamad International Airport? This doesn't make sense to me.
If you're talking about comparing the OWE lounge at HIA to Al Mourjan, I completely agree with remdk. Al Mourjan is better than most F lounges I've been in.

As I know you need to have a QR Business Class Ticket to get access.

Interesting I thought access was for J and F on QR flights only. Is it a recent change for and OW J and F?

Had our first visit to AM lounge last week and will be there again next week. Whilst the space, architecture and ambiance is incredible I was left a little cold by the food and drink offering. I wondered if we had missed something hence this post. In the restaurant upstairs we hoped for a menu service but it was a buffet with reasonably limited choices. No explanation of drinks available without going to the bar to peruse & we were offered soft drinks and had to ask for gin & tonic (with the waiter not sure what gin they had). The food area the other end seemed to have a chef preparing what were essentially toasted sandwiches.
Compared to the absolutely incredible service & food on our first QR J flight it felt like a let down. It may be that we are comparing unfairly to OWE lounges (e.g. CX at HKG) as opposed to business lounges but even some business lounges seem
to have better food/drink choices.
It just seemed incongruous with the sheer perfection of the onboard experience. May be only us but wondered if any others had had a similar experience or, more importantly, if we missed anything food or drinks wise? It may have been an off day for the staff we met perhaps.
On a positive note the showers were great (although no hairdryer without asking) and business centre good.

Remdk, fascinating. That's the first I heard of that.
But there's plenty of cooking elsewhere in the airport. All the restaurants! What does QR need to do to bring back cook-to-order upstairs? Install better fire safety equipment or something thereabouts? That seems doable and probably not that costly in the scheme of things.
