quality of J class on different planes (330,340, 777 etc)
Hello all,
I am booking a J award from LHR to DOH. There is limited availability on A380. So I think I have to take another plane to DOH.
Is there a big difference in quality of seating etc in the different planes? Should I try a F seat in one of those planes instead? Currently I can book J/F in A330 or J in A340.
Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks

F on A330 doesn't worth the money, it is outdated...
A380, B787 would be idea for both F(only on A380) and J
777 isn't bad as it has 180 flat bed J (not on A330 and 340, they are about 170 degree)
Why don't you think about A319 at night?
p.s. you could book J on A330 and hope it to be operated by one of the few refurbished ones with 180 flat bed, not recommended

I have a mixed trip coming up in early March LHR to Doha in a A380 in J; then Doha to Kochi A330 and back on the same model of plane; and then from Doha to LHR on the A319 so shall be interesting and all in J. Never flown Qatar before...
Does anybody know what type of meals will be served during the journeys; first plane leaves at 2.15pm from the UK so presume that will be supper and a snack of some variety; the next flight to Kochi leaves at 1pm so imagine that will just be breakfast before we land? The way back will be breakfast/brunch as it is a 920 departure and then the afternoon flight leaves mid afternoon so who knows what permutation of afternoon tea/supper we might get? Any menus would be fantastic.
Thank you very much.

Well technically, QR's best Business Class seats are on the A380 and B787. If you can't get flights operated by these aircrafts, then I'd recommend the B777s which have a better truly flat product than the flat at-an-angle seats on the A330/A340 fleets.

Unfortunately this is old but you might get an idea.

I've flown the F seats on the A330. They're OK, about on a par with the 777 J seats. You do have more space around you to yourself though. The A380 J seats are better. I've got a trip coming up and I'll probably be in the J seats on the A340. Not really relishing it but it'll be better than the 8 hour flight I did in Y last night. :-(

QR2 might change to A380 in the future, otherwise, not much chance to get something else
