Would love to have CEB back, along with DVO (that will not happen though)
Expanding in China and Africa would be the best option for QR as someone has already said..
I would expect BHX and LGW for the UK within the next 3 years...

EK is making a killing off DUR. They are the only carrier operating a long haul flight from there. They need competition now. Pricing is going mad.

Eastern Europe makes sense because it is an area that lacks connections to Asia / Oz / Nz. So pax would have to fly to a Western European hub only to backtrack to go East. For Oz/Nz it's even worse because it takes a connection in the West + one in the East somewhere. A direct Eastern Europe -> ME flight opens tons of possibilities.
The question is whether that makes financial sense for QR.

Please come to SYD! I've been praying for this since 2012.
I already fly to Europe via DOH (via MEL/PER) and would actually fly from SYD via DOH to the Americas as well as this allows me to skip transiting at LAX. At the moment, my preferred route is SYD-HKG-JFK.
I don't have high hopes of QR coming to SYD anytime soon though. If they were going to do it, they would've done it a long time ago imo.

Yeah, I just don't see it happening with the current curfew at SYD.
There's the option of QR timing the flight so it turns at SYD during the day/night with sufficient time before the curfew but given that most of QR's departures to Europe are centered around the morning period, that sort of schedule from SYD would just leave a horrible connection time at HIA.

I mentioned this a few times regarding QR at SYD.
The curfew isn't an issue, QR can have a departure ex-DOH at around 2100, a quick turn around at SYD with an arrival into DOH around 0500 and still comply with the curfews. Such a schedule will connect well with a lot of European, African and Middle Eastern markets.
The problem is that QR is limited by the air service agreement with Australia, they would have to drop either PER or MEL to start SYD. The possibility of departing past midnight from DOH for the MEL and PER flights allows for more connection possibilities, besides QR is more established in these markets and has less competition so there isn't an incentive to drop one of them so as to serve SYD. Qantas is lobbying the Australian government against allowing QR more rights.
