Partner award availability
Tried to ask in AA forum, got no responses, thought maybe I'd have better luck here. Does QR open up award availability close to departure date? I've got Y seats dfw-doh in July and was wondering if there was any chance of J seats being out into award inventory if they go unsold in the weeks or days leading up to the flight.

From the One Mile at a Time Blog, he states: "Generally availability seems to be best on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, with very little space on weekends aside from within a week of departure."

So it seems like they open up space 1 week in advance.
