This was posted on QRs site on the 22nd October: DOHA, Qatar – Qatar Airways’ highly anticipated A380 aircraft will soon touchdown in Bangkok, Thailand, following the overwhelming success of its inaugural service to London Heathrow introduced earlier this month. The airline is scheduled to commence A380 service between Doha and Paris Charles De Gaulle, followed by an additional London service by the end of the year. And now, Qatar Airways is ready to bring this state-of-the-art aircraft to Thailand.

Unfortunately no exact date for CDG

QR's 2nd and 3rd A380s are ready for delivery, and the 4th one should be finished very soon:

Looks like QR 40 will be the flight number of the CDG-DOH route? Looks like award availability has already been pulled. I guess I'm late to the game.

I booked about a month ago for early Dec, even then availability was pretty thin

Those on London flight check your bookings. They have stopped a daily service on the 380 and replaced it with 346 on certain days. My flights in a couple of weeks have changed.

Looks like it might be just the second week of Nov

Unfortunately not just one week in November:

The QR3/QR4 rotation still seems to have the A380 every day, though.

Thanks for the heads up.
My return QR3 has been swapped from the A380 to a A346 but at least my 11K seat booking carried through which is fine.
As you say, it looks like 5 days only from 5th November that it's swapped out. Maintenance maybe?
At least I will (hopefully) have the A380 out to DOH this Saturday followed by a 787 down to JNB although the 1 hour 10 minutes connection (with checked luggage) is going to be interesting as the QR4 has been mostly late into DOH since it has started.

Very excited. Booked in SEPT BKK-DOH-ARN for 30DEC14. Just noticed tonight that my 8:30 pm BKK-DOH went to A380 from 777 (with old seats). Hope the equipment sticks! Also, first time on 787 from DOH-ARN.

Looks like QR001/002 won't actually be swapping to the A380 - or at least not yet…

CDG will be getting a second A380 service instead. So both QR039/040 and QR041/042 will be served by the A380.

Obviously this will be good news for some, but a big from me!

This is getting confusing.

I've got a mate going DOH-BKK on the same day on QR836. This lands at 12:10 pm and returns as QR837 at 1:30pm. DOH-BKK is showing A380 but the return is showing B777.

Your one looks like QR823 which is showing A380 BKK-DOH as you say, but the DOH-BKK leg (QR822) is showing B777.

Somthing doesn't compute to me, or am I missing something basic?

He's not an FTer so I've just emailed him saying to check his seat booking.

If he asks for a recommendation on the A380 in J, what should I say?

Best explained here with all the flight numbers/aircraft types to and from BKK:

http://airlineroute.net/2014/10/22/qr-bkk-jan15/

However, the complete mess surrounding the A380 schedule for LHR is disappointing:

http://airlineroute.net/2014/10/31/qr-380-nov14/

http://airlineroute.net/2014/10/29/qr-380-jan15/

I am all for flexibility but to randomly change the A380 schedule so often proves just how amateurish any so-called "planning department" really is.
