Think it is true indeed :
“The Doha-Heathrow route is one of Qatar Airways’ most popular international routes and it was only fitting that we introduce an all-business class service on this key route," says chief executive Akbar Al Baker - from Flightglobal.

LHR DOH 2155#0640 QR 16 JC CC DC IC UC
DOH LHR 1450 2025 QR 15 JC CC DC IC UC
From 20 May.
Wonder if there is considerable savings from using an A319 rather than a 777 / 787 / 380 etc.

It's similar to BA's A318 to JFK from LCY, service will be outstanding I guess. Though I'm curious to see whether the fares will be different as they specifically want to target business passengers. Maybe they won't offer that service if Doha is nit the final destination.

If it will depart and arrive at the same airports, use the same lounges and offer the same services, I'm struggling to see what really sets the All-J apart from the existing services?
Particularly since they are using the Diamond seat which has very restricted feet space and the same problem of climbing over the aisle passenger as 77W, yet the 77W has much more space all around? And this is before we start comparing it to the 787 seat...
It might have been more compelling if they had used the Super Diamond seat as found in 787. Not sure what the capacity penalty would have been vs. 2-2 Diamond layout.
BA's service works because it departs/arrives at LCY as well as the pre-clearance at SNN which are distinct advantages. I'm not yet convinced what this service brings to the table, but I'm open to being persuaded.

I worked on this project when I was at QR. The Planning Department is sceptical but the Product Department and CEO Office are optimistic. It is proof of concept and there might be more of these aircraft coming and on other routes too if it works well.
If I remember correctly the aircraft is quite an old one and would otherwise be retired. But if the concept works QR might order new all premium aircraft.
Unfortunately the Super Diamond will either not fit or not be certified, one of those, I forget which.

I suppose you mean AA and it is not on the 319 but the 321 Transcon. Not that it should make a difference re certification in essentially the same (shorter) cabin. However, I do not see how to fit 40 such seats (20 rows) in an A319.
