I'm trying to book a reward flight from Europe - Tokyo but I keep getting the message that this route is not available to book in miles. Has QR somehow taken off Tokyo because of all the people booking the fare in the last sale? This is really a mystery. I've been trying for a few weeks now

ms101 as you suggest a very, very large number of seats to Tokyo were sold during the last sale which will naturally reduce the availability of 'cheaper' seats, including reward seats and upgrades. It would not surprise me if QR said stop for reward seats for some time so that the 'cheap' sale seats can be supplemented with more expensive seats in order to maintain some sort of profitability.
This is conjecture on my part and there may be other reasons.

Does Qatar ever allow changing to an earlier flight? I'm currently booked with a 9-hour layover in DOH en route to BKK, but there is an earlier flight and I'm wondering if I could get on the earlier flight if there is space. Would they do it if I asked in the lounge at DOH? Or should I try somewhere else?

dyung welcome to the QR forum. You may find the dashboard a useful tool for exploring the forum.
QR are not known for their willingness to change flights.
You need to look at the Fare rules that are now supplied as an attachment to the "Booking confirmation : xxxxxx" e-mail. They can say "change fees are nnnn" or "changes are free of charge". This very much depends upon your booking class and country of origin of the first flight on your booking.
Timing is everything when changing flights. If you change before the first flight then you will also have to pay any fare difference that may occur. After you have taken the first flight then you will not be repriced on the changes flight (DOH-BKK). But there may be a fare difference for a change of ticket class if your original is sold out on the new flight.
So you need to do it in the lounge in DOH.
Any change within three hours of departure will be regarded as a cancellation and new purchase. Thus you should try as soon as you can after arriving on your incoming flight.
This reply is very general because you supply no details but it should cover your particular problem.

Hi,
I booked ARN-DOH-DXB / DXB-DOH-ARN ages ago in a J sale.
The fare buckets used are ARN-DOH / DOH-ARN in Business(R), but the DOH-DXB / DXB-DOH is in First(A).
The short DXB/DOH sectors were originally proposed as being operated by A333 with the longhaul on 788.
Couple of questions:
Thanks!

Couple of questions:
- Am I right to assume this was ticketed as First to ensure the lie flat beds in the older aircraft?
- Will the First(A) booking class sectors on both outbound and inbound entitle me to use the First Class lounges facilities at DOH/DXB?
- If the aircraft were changed to a three-class model, would we potentially get an F upgrade?
Thanks!

MrGatch welcome to the QR forum. You will find that the dashboard is a useful tool when accessing the forum.
1. All wide bodied aircraft, and a few narrow bodied have lie flat seats. The use of cabin class F has nothing to do with the seat type. There is no J on most regional flights, but F and Y only. You could have an A320 or A321 with cradle seats and it would still be an F flight.. I personally can not see the need for lie flat seats on this short hop DOH-DXB. No sooner than you can lower the seat after take off than it must be raised again for landing!
2. Prior to the DOH-DXB flight you will have access to Al Safwa because you hold an F boarding pass. On your return DXB-DOH you are not arriving on a longhaul flight and do not qualify for access til Al Safwa but would to the QR premium lounge in DXB.
3. With the exception of the A380s QR has no three class aircraft! I very much doubt QR would use its overstretched A380s for a regional flight. They are all needed elsewhere. Thus there is no chance of purchasing an upgrade.

I've got an unplanned knee problem
At the moment I can't bend it and I need a cane/crutch to walk.
Since next Saturday I have CAI-DOH-BKK in F (with husband & kids), should I notify QR about my mobility troubles?
Thanks!

I would call QR customer service in Cairo or send a tweet to @qatarairways and just mention it..Ask them to add it to your PNR. When you check in at CAI.. mention it..if U feel that you need assistance, just ask ahead of time. No harm is done if asking.

Some, but not all, is part of the standard F transfer service but altogether you will have the easiest and hopefully most comfortable transfer.

Lefly MMB is fine. That is how I did it when I had serious problems with my leg and foot.

HEL-specific questions, OLCI opens 48h prior departure but as we already have allocated seats (bassinet seat) I doubt that will matter.
In any case, after medium-haul to Doha, we are continuing on A380, any views on taking bassinet seat on the sides (one full row of 3 seats for 3+1 travellers) or 3/4 seats in the middle, any clear benefits except for the obvious one for 400 kg fellow passenger flying in the 4th seat. Since we have the seats already confirmed, don't know whether I can even change them but if it would be possible, would like to know
Are Q-Taqs allowed at HEL i.e. with OLCI and printed Q-tags, can we just go to bag drop (does QR even has such?) as we have at least one special baggage in any case and isn't baggage drop the same location as the special baggage or where QR desks are typically located?
Even I'm positioned at HEL, have not ever flown with family without status, so very new world waiting for me not being able to directly go to business check-in ;( hence the stupid questions. In any case trying to minimize waiting time at the aiport.

Post Scriptum welcome to the QR forum.
It is almost always possible to select other seats on any flight unless it is sold out.
A word of warning: bassinet seats (or rather the front row of most cabins) are always blocked. So were you to try to change seats you would not be able to reserve a bassinet seat yourself. Of course you could contact reservations again and get them to move you but even then you cannot be sure that you can get a bassinet seat.
Your other questions I will leave to those who have used bassinet seats previously.
