QR to start flying into Birmingham (BHX)?
Apparently using their new B787's, interesting if it's true...

Edinburgh also rumoured to commence along with a restart of Gatwick operations.

Doubt it'd be a 787.
They don't need the range, so more likely that once the capacity is freed up with the new aircraft, they can move some of the existing fleet onto these new routes.

In truth, although QR plans to start BHX you have to remember that the other cities are not yet confirmed.
Here's the official statement:

EK, who average 82%+ on their twice daily flights from BHX will no doubt respond to protect their position with a third daily flight, including one with an F cabin-and perhaps an A380.

I doubt they'd do an A380 for another few years because with a full load, they'd have a bit of trouble landing and taking off because of the runway length.
No confirmation yet though.
